Tuned too see if it was going to be like Jersey Shore but its miles worse, but still its strangley addictive. The editing makes ya just wasnt to watch it.

I'll watch it to see how it develops but I couldnt stop cringing/laughing at it. Keep it coming MTV. :pac:

I ended up working on a show in Newcastle that was filming at the same time as this show and in the same location.

Living in Newcastle I tuned in last night to see how it all went and, yes, it's one of these shows that will cause controversy and get people talking and watching - but three minutes in I was switching off after one girl announced she was here to "find a man and put out" and from the reports I got back from those who worked on the show that's all they did for the entire season.

But if you like that kind of thing, enjoy:D

This has to be one of the most horrendous portrayals of the North east. I have lived here for umpteen years and NO ONE is like that bunch of complete planks. Yes, there is lads who tan and are obsessed with the gym and women who are complete snobs but the whole "hoe man, this is the wiey iz gotta live if wor a Geordie" is complete b*******. All of my mates who are born and bred here are disgusted. Next time filming commences I cant see them lads n lasses lasting more than 10mins in any club here!

Agree totally. I'm from the area myself (well Sunderland) and the show is a joke. It's a complete misrepresentation of the north-east as a whole and the majority of people from the region are disgusted by it.

They were also re-filming fight scenes :pac: :rolleyes: and the whole show is following the same script as Jersey Shore. I expected it to be similar but the whole first episode was exactly the same.

It is, horrific misrepresentation. Ive come to love this place and it annoys me to have the those outside the region/country viewing this show and thinking thats what its like.

I was in tup tup a few weeks back and they were doing tons of reshoots of a dance scene in the vip area. Such a joke.

I've lived in this city for about 2 years (little less) and I've never met anyone who acts like that, least of all a woman, maybe I've just been lucky I haven't kicked over the wrong rock....

There is, however, a large section of British society who act this way (whether anyone who lives in the country wants to accept that or not) and these people are not actors being paid to put on a role for the cameras. There is a certain amount of bravado, sure, but the girls they invited back the first night weren't actors.

It's funny because I felt Vicky was more attractive with her make up off

Many papers have called the show idiotic, and the Sunday tabloids are having a field day, but this quote from the Mirror is the best I've read about the entire show...sums it up really...

Well that's some major photoshopping right there! The two bigger girls don't have wastes that small!

It's just crazy to me that people like this exist...I heard the Newcastle social scene was a bit more mental than the rest of the UK but I'm sure they're a small minority. The only one I like out of all of them is the slightly more normal guy - the one without the orange glow.

Not the only problem, having looked at it again I think that this photo was probably a combination of all four girls individually placed together as opposed to the group shot up against a wall. I did see another photo of them in a hot tub that was, apparently, taken last week to celebrate the launch of the programme on TV but this could have been done prior to the show taking place. I would imagine the cast would have their own issues with each other once the show had ended.

It's all done now anyway, was filmed in late March/early April and finished up by the middle of April so I wouldn't be expecting to see them around town anytime soon.

Do you reckon any of them got paid to do this? I know it's a reality show, but not in the true sense of the word....

MTV's Geordie Shore cast will film two Magaluf summer specials later this year, it has been revealed.

Holly Hagan, Gaz Beadle, Vicky Pattinson and the rest of their North-East friends will be swapping Newcastle's Diamond Strip for the disco lights of one of Europe's most popular clubbing destinations.

However, it won't be just an 18-30s party holiday for the reality TV stars, as they will also be working in Magaluf in one of the island's most popular souvenir shops.

Geordie Shore launched last month with record-breaking ratings for MTV.

The Jersey Shore spinoff recently caused controversy and was criticised by a local MP last week for "bordering on porn".

The news that they're doing a follow up isn't massively surprising but you'd wonder why they all didn't learn a little something following the filming - for one, that they couldn't stand each other, and for another that they had probably ruined any chance they have of getting a respectable job in the real world.

From my experiences? I find them very like us. Very warm and friendly and down to earth. They work hard and love their beer and football. Many of my mates have told me "we're not English, we're Geordie"...very proud and have a great way of life. Just live for the weekend which is why Im sickened to be home!

I'd agree with this, I will tell you one thing, if it wasn't for the people in Newcastle I would have left long ago - you will never meet such genuine, down to earth and welcoming people

Totally agree, been here 9 months now and the people are amazing, really helpful and friendly and definitely live for the weekend.

Haven't encountered any trouble once since being here which is surprising considering the insane price of drink (1.75 trebles anyone? )
