Your buying into the local hype. Spend a few months in the country and you think you one of them:D
It is an interesting one though she could go one of two ways. definitely Gold medal prospect but I think if she doesnt get it she wont medal at all. Bit wary of the fact of her having a long season by the time september rolls along with the Australian track season being in our winter
Realistically if Pearson runs to her best (low 12.5s) who at the moment can beat her? Lopes-Schliep is pregnant. Felicien is past her best. Wells could perhaps. Maybe Harper if she rediscovers her form of 2008. Maybe Carruthers. Any of the Europeans? Maybe Nytra but highly unlikely. The Jamaicans look well off form this year! She really should medal tbh, and she is the Olympic silver medallist lets not forget.
Her season is long of course with the summer track season down here coming before the real track season but she was only running 100/200s down here mostly. She barely runs a hurdles race in Oz. She looked incredibly good in Lausanne, and looked great in every race I watched her in last year.
I'm happy with my pick
Obviously for the purposes of Derval winning a medal I hope Sally runs a nightmare race, but for the purposes of this prestigious competition I am putting all local bias aside.0 -
