Why Would Anyone Welcome Obama To Ireland?

Are we that desperate to welcome such a manipulative elitist? How people can't see that this man is George Bush 2.0 is beyond me. Gotta love mainstream media. But don't worry, the Americans see him for what he is - he won't win again next year. He's really unpopular in the States - it seems we'll welcome just about anyone though.

Ron Paul 2012! You're the last one who can save this world, sir.

His popularity figures are still quite good, but I got that information from the mainstream media, so its obviously wrong.

The same or better than Reagan at the same point in his term.

LOL Ron Paul, yea I can see a man who wants to abolish the department of education, the EPA and wants to return to the gold standard getting elected..

    "Fix"?

You mean ObamaCare is your idea of a health system by default?

    Unbelievable.

I don't know about Obamacare or foreign policy, I just know he's a swell guy that you'd like to share a brewski with, maybe talk about foozeball and apple pie. God bless America!

He's a visiting head of state. Why wouldn't sections of our country welcome him? While I agree he's no better that any other corporation stooge, he's still the President of the US and his visit will have a marginally positive effect on the country. And with the state that this place is in, we could use all the good press we can get. Very few heads of state have a squeeky-clean record, so there's no point getting annoyed about it. It's just politics. And politics is no longer about the people.

this obama=bush meme seems to have become quite popular. i can't figure out if it's the far (looney) left that's more fond of it, or the right, who would stand to benefit most from his loss in the next election.

regardless, it's utter nonsense. laughable really.

Do some research yourself. Ron Paul is almost level on popularity. The man won every primary poll in 2008 - he shouldn't have dropped out of the running.

An average of the polling on his approval ratings show 47.8% approve and 46.2% disapprove of the job Obama is doing. This is a huge change from when he was elected.

Are you suggesting that Ron Paul is even in the same ball park as Bush?
Ron Paul is unequivocally anti-war. Obama loves nothing better than a good old bombing of the Afghans. Nothing has changed and it would be naive to think it.

He is unpopular for several reasons - I think looking to one you agree with personally, is rather short sighted.

Ron Paul is even polling behind Sarah Palin at this point - where in the world are you getting your information from?

He's black, he's cool, he's the Black Bill Clinton. Yes his country still murders arabs abroad and supports corrupt regimes but people will be out in their droves because we are yankee wannabees really in Ireland!

    1. Palin won't win - we all know that now.
    2. Paul hasn't even said he would run yet.
    3. Wait until the campaigns start - and his supporters will come out in their droves again.

Nope, because Obama plays lip service to social justice, you must be anti social justice and pro war to be the special flower of Pox news.

Barack Obama bombs Libya, George W Bush also bombed countries. They are pretty much the same, their domestic policies might differ slightly but US domestic policy is non of my concern.

I want an isolationist president in the US.

I know Palin won't win. And anyone with an ounce of sense knows that Ron Paul won't win. I admire his honesty and consistency, and he is a welcome voice in American politics, but there is no way in hell that he will be the GOP nominee in 2012.

because he is not a neo-con, simple as, anything not falling into line with that way of thinking is wrong in their eyes. neo-cons believe america must police the world, that numerous evil forces exist that want to destroy america, paul wants to close american bases abroad, wants to cut military spending. just listen to his interview last night where he said the libya thing should have been dealt with internally by the arab league.

    Their pathetic.

...They just hate everyone that don't have "Republican" after their name.

it's hardly no apparent reason, as stated, he's a strict libertarian. Republicans only pay lip service to fiscal conservatism. They are in fact a socially conservative party.

GWB= largest federal expansion in half a century and all the sweet contracts to their cronies that went with it.

the operation in libya is to stop genocide on a massive scale, you could argue the merits of iraq and afghanistan but neither were for that purpose, its not surprising france is involved in this whereas they were huge opponents of military action in iraq

I would go one step further and say they hate anyone who veers from a very specific agenda. Those who don't fall in are branded "RINOS": Republicans In Name Only. Basically anyone in the GOP who is a moderate, is willing to work with Democrats, or who is not a hawk goes on the Fox ****-list. God forbid anyone be capable of independent thought.
