Why Would Anyone Welcome Obama To Ireland?

Are we that desperate to welcome such a manipulative elitist? How people can't see that this man is George Bush 2.0 is beyond me. Gotta love mainstream media. But don't worry, the Americans see him for what he is - he won't win again next year. He's really unpopular in the States - it seems we'll welcome just about anyone though.

Ron Paul 2012! You're the last one who can save this world, sir.

Yes because George Bush tried to fix the healthcare system whilst in power.

His popularity figures are still quite good, but I got that information from the mainstream media, so its obviously wrong.

The same or better than Reagan at the same point in his term.

LOL Ron Paul, yea I can see a man who wants to abolish the department of education, the EPA and wants to return to the gold standard getting elected..

    "Fix"?

You mean ObamaCare is your idea of a health system by default?

    Unbelievable.

What are you on about, it's the main reason he is so unpopular. The damn communist.

I don't know about Obamacare or foreign policy, I just know he's a swell guy that you'd like to share a brewski with, maybe talk about foozeball and apple pie. God bless America!

He's a visiting head of state. Why wouldn't sections of our country welcome him? While I agree he's no better that any other corporation stooge, he's still the President of the US and his visit will have a marginally positive effect on the country. And with the state that this place is in, we could use all the good press we can get. Very few heads of state have a squeeky-clean record, so there's no point getting annoyed about it. It's just politics. And politics is no longer about the people.

this obama=bush meme seems to have become quite popular. i can't figure out if it's the far (looney) left that's more fond of it, or the right, who would stand to benefit most from his loss in the next election.

regardless, it's utter nonsense. laughable really.

Do some research yourself. Ron Paul is almost level on popularity. The man won every primary poll in 2008 - he shouldn't have dropped out of the running.

An average of the polling on his approval ratings show 47.8% approve and 46.2% disapprove of the job Obama is doing. This is a huge change from when he was elected.

I'll welcome him to annoy the likes of you OP.

Plus he's from Offaly, I mean, he's practically a cousin to all of us!

Are you suggesting that Ron Paul is even in the same ball park as Bush?
Ron Paul is unequivocally anti-war. Obama loves nothing better than a good old bombing of the Afghans. Nothing has changed and it would be naive to think it.

He is unpopular for several reasons - I think looking to one you agree with personally, is rather short sighted.

Ron Paul is even polling behind Sarah Palin at this point - where in the world are you getting your information from?

Agreed, but you must wonder why?! Perhaps he's not in line with their usual agenda.
