Nice bull calf out of a 2 year old lim springer and stock bull born the end of May. Had a nice bit of a pull with him too! C0006A60-DAD6-4AA2-832F-AEB0CF1F3BA5_zpsur3meizu.jpg

Easiest thing is to show you! She's out of the LIM bull Paco, prob long dead. Dam was a LM/brfr/sim mix.
Perfect cow for Leitrim land, small, light and good milk.

Ideal suckler cow for most of Ireland! I see she's white socks. Tell me, has she a white star on her forehead? I've one or two like her and they're the best cows in the place.

Nope, just the two socks. He dam was the same actually. Someone asked me about her before and I have a photo of her dam too. That's her below. The family is definitely not the showiest looking cows but they breed crackers of animals.

    Kovu
I wonder if you kept the calf would a lot of that muscle fade after a few years as a cow? I suppose the milk might be disappearing from the genes at this stage as well

We bulled an odd heifer with as much muscle as that, and yeah it does tend to be less extreme as the cow developes, infact we had two identical (to the eye) half sisters, bulled one and beefed the other. From very shortly after the heifer was bulled he comrade walked away from her condition wise. So the act of carrying a calf in itself will supress the development and expression of muscle I've found.
As mentioned already, the bigger issue for me here would be milk. If I thought she'd milk the arse wouldn't bother me!

I don't know JDI, CMX wouldn't be the best one for leaving milk in heifers. Although this ones mother has great milk, I don't think it would carry through to her, although she does have plenty of room for it underneath. The only thing she does that bugs me is climbs ditches and walks through everything to eat trees. She's like a giant goat, the calf does it too. Although it's not harming their condition!!

I have a Blonde with a giant butt that's galloping away from 4 other heifers on an outfarm. I'll have to put up a photo of her and get all your wisdom about what bull to put on her!

Christ, we'll have the strangest named cattle in Ireland at this rate.

Although I don't think anyone can beat our youngest calf, affectionately named Nuts. He has an extra lump of tissue hanging under his ear. I think you can figure out where he got his name from :D

Haha I have seen that before :D Chopped bales and stingy with the net, if they are left sitting for a half an hour they all start bursting in the middle.
