    Not sure if its particularly relevant to the title of this thread but I've just woken up unusually early for a Saturday morning to find its absolutely pelting down the white stuff here (in Glasgow, not Castlebar)...and the forecast is constant snow all day into this evening! :D:D

    So pleased I went shopping last night now!

    snow in Cork was never a runner
    I think I need some salt and pepper so I can eat my hat.
    Back to mostly wet snow here which is melting away the earlier snow. Looks like a bit of a clearing over Galway on the radar,for now anyway.

    Cold air here now along with sleety rain...

    8.15am = 7.4c
    8.20am = 6.4c
    8.25am = 5.3c
    8.35am = 4.6c
    9.10am = 3.4c

    What a drop! I see NRA Roscrea is at 0.4c at 9am. Quite a strong possibility of snow soon now that the cold air has crossed the Slieve Bloom Mtns.

    Best thing about this snow is I don't have to clear it away for Santa coming
    Locks door lights fire puts on telly and prepares for a full day of hibernation

    You guys are in a different country! I'm thinking about applying some sunblock here. Well its mild and the sun pokes though now and again.

    The only thing worse than Dublin not having snow is Cork having snow. :D

    Sleet in Cork City center. Seems to alternate between mostly snow and mostly rain, wasn't expecting this at all!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

    Kilkenny gone from 8c at 10.10am to 7c at 10.30am... Roughly 2 hours behind here. At 15 miles apart I judge this cold airmass to be moving at 7.5mph! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 921 ✭✭✭MiNdGaM3

    I think that's the final straw, yep, gonna have to go buy some kinda cheap weather station today, can't be getting caught unawares like this:D

    Or how about this: Clonmel 3.5C and sleet, 30km away, Dungarvan 8.9C and sunny!

    Edit: Admittedly, not as stark as the differences Danno showed last night!
