Yesterday was Oliver's 7th birthday, he started the day with a chicken and veggie wholemeal pasta, in spicy sauce (leftovers from dinner night before), and then stole the chorizo I was going to add to my scrambled egg, took it off the counter and ran out back and scoffed the lot!
He got a big run at the river, sardines in tomato sauce with his dinner and today daughter is making him some cheesy biscuits (also making her dad a birthday cake as its a big bday, but doggy birthday biscuits first)

We also have Jake 14 years around now, and Ruby is 2 around now, Arabella was born around 1 year ago. So they are all getting spoiled (Toby celebrates with Tiffi in May, another day they all get spoiled)

I'm lucky to get a card on my birthday!

Just back from a lovely weekend away and waiting for the kennels to open before collecting the dogs. The house is so quiet without them! really looking forward to getting them home:-P

I was delighted to see an update on the little local tabby cat that had gone missing. He made his way home after 13 days missing. :) I just knew when I saw him that morning that something was a bit off but I assumed he was just new to the area. Hopefully now that he's back to his family it might put an end to his adventures.

Well Lucy's bandage had been gradually slipping down and making her walk funny etc so we decided to take it off. Took us AGES - i can see now why the vets use a blade to cut thru it lol!! She's delighted it's off - keeps giving us balls :p

Sometimes I just despair of people. I was walking home this afternoon and there was a man with his young grandson, probably about 7ish, walking 2 dogs. 1 dog was leashed the other wasn't and the child seemed to have Autism or something like that. The kid went berserk screaming and crying for no apparent reason and the leashed dog started barking at a fence. The man then proceeded to kick the Husky as he was on the phone to the son in law to come and collect the kid.

The other dog had taken off up the road at the kids hysterics and I let a roar out at the guy for kicking the dog. There's no excuse for kicking a dog, or any animal. I can appreciate that he was under a lot of stress but it just made me so fecking angry.

I know somebody who did the same thing - got a dog (a breed know to hate kids) because one of the kids has autism. They forget though that it's still a dog that needs to be trained and socialised etc then blame the dog for their own lack of care and training!

I've been using local-ish honey (from places 10/20 mins drive away) this year and it really does help on days with medium pollen counts but when it's high I still need an antihistamine! I have the honey dissolved in a cup of camomile tea, it's lovely!

I put 2 bowls of new grain free dry food down to see which they'll eat. They're grudgingly eating the Applaws and the Taste of the wild venison one is getting lots of sniffs but no tasters.

Six days to go before my first seminar, AH it's actually happening, I'm becoming one of those "dog people" and to think less than three years ago I hadn't a clue about anything to do with dogs (and I mean completely hadn't a clue) I'm all grown up now. :o

I've gone to a good few but not really in that headspace atm so didn't go to this one. You tend to see the same small clique from one particular place who are kind of annoying and clueless but go to every seminar - see if you spot them lol!! :p

    :(
€240 for Lucy-Lu's insurance and €270 for 2 tyres today. Why are these objects and animals taking all my money?! :o

Well, the Applaws is only being eaten grudgingly when mixed with their old food and I'm ordering a 2 pack tester of Purizon and a bag of Porta 21 to see how that goes down. My parents have 4 cats of their own and 3 others that they feed so at least the Taste of the wild stuff might be eaten by 1 of them.

The young girl in the next house to me is kicking a football against her house repeatedly for the past 40 mins.

Doesn't bother me, but the dogs appear to think we are under attack and have not stopped barking and running around the kitchen.

Thank goodness they're keeping me safe!

I was supposed to be getting a yorkie pup in a couple months but I found out today it was a phantom pregnancy. The vet was so certain but turns out he was wrong. I feel really really sad and a bit silly for feeling so sad. :(

 Lucy's dew claw on the paw she had bandaged is kind of at a weird angle. I wonder if it maybe got caught or pulled by the bandages? One side has a tiny crack/stress line with dried blood behind it - Bailey was prone to that in the past before legs were sorted and I always try to keep his claws short to stop it happening. She doesn't seem to be in pain but wouldn't tell you - luckily she'd sooner move away than bite my hand off like her big bro so I was able to get a good look at it. Not sure what to do though?! I don't think it's damaged enough to need to be removed and at the same time the thought of her catching/having to something done to it it and being in agony?
    Am I imagining it?!

Probably is from the bandage, Cocos ended up rubbing a pressure sore onto the skin underneath hers from the bandage and when the bandage came off it was more annoying to her than the original injury!

Hard to tell whether it's broken or damaged, but she's not going on crazy zoomie runs yet though? So it might just right itself?

She's had a few zoomies the last few days! I'm worried now it might get caught in something?

Swanson has a new kid friend. I was off yesterday so I was sitting in the flat with the window open.
I heard a woman say "Come on now, the cat is going to bed"
    *infantile screech of rage*
    *Feline wail of anguish*

I wish Lucy would get some kid friends - she's terrified of half of them and doesn't mind the rest. Really I just need a kid that ignores her so she can go and have a sniff of them :P

We got ourselves a Vax one and it seems to be doing the trick with Opie blowing his coat and Abigail smudging cheese and cement (aka soggy Rusks) into the floor. Got a Vax steam mop today as well in an attempt to appear somewhat hygienic if the health nurse ever makes a surprise visit! :pac:
