In fairness.... UAV's/CUAV's would be ridiculous if assassin is used as much as cold blooded was, a strong player will have both of them up for the entire game on his own.. im ok with it.. but i know a lot of people love their radar so i can see it being their only choice. Even vs a full decent team, i know for a fact that i'd beable to keep up a UAV/CUAV and a 5 killstreak for the entire game on my own...

Again... the killstreaks are the problem, not the perks, as was the case in MW2 + Blops (IMO). They should just take away the reset thing for the support streaks and remove the stacking ability of the assault streaks, problem solved.

I only really use the radar if there is a spy plane or something in the air. Other than that I just assume where people are going to be. But if there's a perk that makes it redundant then why even have the radar aswell as the support killstreaks. They'll just be made worthless since one perk counters them all but I dunno, I dont want to bitch too much before the game comes out, I'll remain optimistic :P

Im on and off about the Strike packages, I can't see the Support class being over powered at all since only 4 of them are lethal and only 2 of them are manned.

For assault package I think that could be over powered but it only takes one person to run EMP and get it with 10-11 kills when they don't have to die to take out something or to use a javelin.

I'm pretty pissed off about perk slot 2. There are really only 2 viable perks there. Assassin and Blast Shield. Assassin will obviously be the go to for the great players we know as corner campers. But I think Blast Shield is a far stronger perk, or should be. The Pro version is essentially 2 of my go to perks in Blops, so I'm happy about that. But I can see assassin being everywhere.

Perk slot 3 has nothing that really stands out to me though, they all look very bland with nothing being hugely better than anything else. Though we will have to see the game to be sure.

Slot 1 is great though, 4 viable perks and while I can see alot of people going for Blind Eye, they are at a disadvantage in most gun fights then I would think given no SoH. Depending how strong the weapons actually are.

Why would Blind eye users be at a disadvantage to slight of hand users? Afaik, quick draw from slot 2 is the one that gives faster ADS.

Yea, SOH = Faster Reloads while Quick Draw is faster ADS, you'll have to use both if you want to use the SOH we've been used to.

Again, I'll probably keep the Assassin/Blind Eye for an anti air support class only.

I loved SOH! was best perk in the game for me! Think most people prob use it! always felt like I had 4 perks in blops when I used SOH and pick up a gun with multiple attachments!

But I welcome the change.. anything to mix it up a bit really!! I think I's be happier if there were 10 perks in each tier.. might encourage people to crawl outa their comfort zone!

Specialist Tier Strike Packages is very interesting. you can add perks on the fly with kills/objectives. A possible setup (though i will assume with the hardline you will only need 1 kill to add your first additional perk)

    SOH
    Quick draw ----starting 3 perks
    stalker

    assassin
    after 2 kills

    dead eye
    after 4 kills
    dead slience

    sitrep
    scavanger
    after 6 kills
    blast shield

6 kills(5 with hardline) is not a lot, all the kids will use the dead eye/assassin and probably the assault setup. After 5 kills your a one man army(no pun intended) you have every advantage over the camping nubs. 9 perks sounds good to me. Maybe replace blast shield with steady aim or overkill. just have to see how usefull the other perks are. fair enough you dont get any KD enhancing killstreaks/ but should be fun to play this way.

I think you misunderstood the way you acquire perks. You do not acquire two perks for your 4th kill, but instead you receive your 2nd additional perk, and a third perk for your 6th. However, you do get all 15 perks on your 8th kill.

Ah I see, so all 15 at 8 kills. Still viable though, just have to rethink it a bit.

I definitely saw some video's where there was a box saying "press a to join" or similar.

    M4A1 at rank 32? :/

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

I like how they will reward you for playing the objective now, i used to hate trying to play domination as the only player trying to capture flags...

hopefully the amount of xp you'll be able to rack up will make getting through the early ranks easy, if you're playing the objective you should get tons of points every match.

With a decent team on day one it should be possible to zoom up, especially if playing the objective (pto) can help streaks

    I know, I will love to jump into ground war on day one with an M16 and see all the caps and team work floating about (if the new PS works system works) but the ranks are Such a pain though, my favourite guns and their ranks are;

    M4A1- Rank 31

    ACR 6.8 - Rank 50

    M16A4 - Rank 4 (F*ck yes!)

    MP5 - Rank 26 or 29 :/

    L118A + Barrett 50.cal - Rank 26

And Model 1887 and Spas are around 60's and 70's :(

    • Extra custom class
    • Reset all stats
    • Double XP
    • Double weapon XP
    • Unlock gear
    • Challenges 1
    • Challenges 2
    • Challenges 3
    • Title and emblem 1
    • Title and emblem 2
    • Title and emblem 3

11 options, my thoughts are that there are possibly 11 prestiges and you get a token per prestige, you can only buy an option once since it will be impossible to unlock the same emblems over and over again :P

I think certain items will be able to be bought multiple times, extra custom classes for example. Say theres 15 prestiges so you use the custom class option 5 times to give you the 10 classes seen in MW2/B:Ops

I've heard from a couple of people that played that the m16 is supposed to suck. More like the blops version than the mw2 one. Kind of a bonerkiller

I had amazing games with the BO M16, it was the first gun I turned gold and I made a video on how to use it

Confirmed that theres no Combat training mode :( Also the reset stats thing brings you all the way back to level 1 so you can prestige all over again  The gear option allows you to have a gun unlocked from the start of next prestige.

It brings you back to Level 1? As in the very first level. I was hoping it only brought me back to level 1 of the current prestige but zero'd your stats.

Not sure exactly. Heres the quote from 402:
@Demonify - What exactly does reset all stats do?

402 - Takes you back to rank 1 so you can do everything all over again. It was a major request by our max rank max prestigers.

@bmeservey - gear for prestige shop, do you get to pick extra weapons to start with next go around? Can you earn more than one proficiency?

402 - Yeah, you choose something to carry over with you at the start of your next prestige. Only 1 proficiency per weapon at a time.

@krazybakers - Question - Is combat training still in MW3? & if so is there any improvments in it what so ever?

402 - No Combat Training, we use Spec Ops Survival for the same purpose (to intro into MP mechanics) in our own way.

My head hurts at this stage trying to get it around different classes, streaks, perks, proficiencies, prestige things..... Seems to be a total cluster fcuk of options. Gonna spend the first week just scrolling from menu to menu. :)

I genuinely dont get how the pointstreaks work at the mo, will make sense of it once I start playing the game, I've watched gameplay vids but couldnt be arsed watching the ones where people are going through the menus, will do that myself

I think you get a point for a kill and a point for capping a flag. Dunno if you get more for planting a bomb or something or if you get two points for killing someone planting a bomb.
