They are sweet AEGs. One quest though. How do you find the fire selector? I have mine almost 2 weeks now and it's still very stiff, not as nice to use as the TM P90 selector which has a nice amount of resistance. I don't want to start taking it apart yet as it's only a niggling issue.

I like it, I mean personally, I feel it adds to the whole solid feeling of the AEG. But hey, that's just me:)

Are there any brands of Mags that will fit it without needing any mods? :)

It's fairly decent, I'll get the chrono out in a sec and find out for you!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Leftyflip

    It's doing 15rps on a firefox 8.4v.

That's decent for straight out the box. Then again for €429 it would want to be :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,174 ✭✭✭✭Captain Chaos

You should see and hear it on a 9.6, I don't have a crono but the rate of fire is the highest in my airsoft collection. This thing is a beast.

Oh, it's a lovely piece, I know I keep saying it, but it is.
It won't be stock for long, have a few upgrades planned for her.

It is, I just need to get the motor bedded in and then we'll be cooking on gas.

It makes the €500 Ares Tavor look like the biggest rip-off going. The G2010 feels better made and has better performance than the €550 PTS ACR out of the box.

The thing is a bargin at that price. While the sight is good, clear etc. It does fog up in this cold weather we are having, it was fogged up out of the box when I got mine. The whole gun was so cold you would almost mistake it for all metal except for the great texture finish on the polymer.

I plan on getting the rail version in the future. It's higher up and slightly longer than the rail on the hunter but it makes all the difference. Especially if you want to run an EoTech/Magflip setup.

Really really good review Lefty. But you know what you must do, right? It is compulsary for you to puff out your bottom lip, tank up, throw on a beret and do an Expendables 'Barney Ross' loadout.

    Thanks Inari! :)
Expect it in the coming days... Minus the beret, if you didn't earn it, don't wear it!

True that, i have used/held both the G2010 and the Tavor and i found the the Tavor very bulky and not a bit accurate but the G2010 is a different story altogether. I was just stating that the rate of fire/gearbox would both have to be fairly decent for the price you are paying for the gun. :)

The gearbox, as per usual G&G standards is great judging from what I've seen in other G&G guns, so this is no exception, can't wait to get my mitts on it though :D

Oh, btw T. any word on the possibility of getting the short flash suppressor from G&G?

@Lefty: I was unsure about the earning of the Beret, so I did a bit of research - the Black Beret (worn by Sly in Expendables) is standard for all army units. Wikipedia quotes it as of 2001, but you know what wiki is like!

Just thought it was interesting so said I'd share :)

Hi Ger was just looking at the photos of the gearbox and was wondering as the spring guide is threaded could you vary the depth that it is screwed in and lock it in place with the retaining cover
Could you use this method as a means of fine tuning the FPS or does the cover have a shoulder on it and lock against the threaded collar that is held by the two halves of the gearbox shell

You can fine tune the FPS with it indeed, it's a very good system.

Well have you tried adjusting it yet
What sort of FPS range does it give you

I've brought it down by about 20fps to 300fps (with a .2), but haven't done much in the way of highs and lows, will do it later on though.

Is the gearbox removeable from the back P90 style and can you adjust the spring with the box still in the body

There's a plate like on the P90, you take that off and loosen 2 screws, these keep the gearbox secure with in the reciever, I'll get some pictures of it later. You can adjust the spring inside the body all you need to do is remove the butt plate and Bob's your uncle! Hope that explains it clear enough :)

The main reason I bought this apart from the sexy factor is becuase it takes armalite mags, effort of having to get a load of P90 MOLLE pouches...

Nope, it won't take Tokyo Marui mags without modification.

By the way you don't need to "earn" a beret, it's just a hat.

    Great review.

I have been using one of these (The same model, black with a hunter sight) since whenever tony got the first lot of them in. It's a fantastic AEG. The fire selector is a little stiff, as mentioned earlier, but that's nothing you can't get over (I normally leave it on semi when not in a safe zone anyway, so it does not matter too much).

I use the 9.6 numchuck style battery Tony threw in with the purchase (Thanks Tony!) and while it's a bit of a tight fit in there, the ROF is fantastic with it.

I just use a SA80 sling with mine, it's a bit of an awkward fit, but it does the job. I generally just use a bit of black insulation tape to hold the butt pad on.

I have experienced no fogging with the optics (Which I believe are actually 1.3x rather than 1.5x as mentioned in your review).

It would be nice if G&G released a couple of the replacement handguards that the RS one has, specifically the one with the torch and laser pointer built in to it.

The initial fogging issue with mine was due to the very cold temperatures where the courier had it stored overnight and or in the van. It has never happened since. The gun was so cold that I kept leaving hand/finger prints all over it for the first 10-15mins admiring it.

I have an FNH civilian sling fitted to mine in a standard 2 point setup. I have it wrapped around the stock and can't use the stock sling slots due to the internals but it still holds in place just fine.

G&G are supposedly working on a few handguards for it. The FN GL1 launcher and the tac light ones. Hopefully they do the low profile tri-rail one too, I'd like to see what that would be like with a Magpul AFG.

Looks a million times better with the rail front. The FN RS parts can be "made to fit" the G&G model.

Think it looks awesome with it (and a few magpul goodies of course):p:rolleyes:
