Fair play to him. Bought my A1200 from the same chap many moons ago, seemed decent enough.

Nice find that. Some stuff I'd actual want in there and prices are very decent.

Everdrive-MD and a Super Everdrive from my own collection going up on Adverts momentarily. I'll edit this post or repost when it goes live.

I have absolutely no use for one of these. Nor do I know how to operate one. But, like my sudden interest in 16 bit Japanese baseball games...

    WANT!

I've wanted to add a classic oscilliscope receiver to my stereo for ages now. The damn things go for a fortune though unfortunately. Really look the business

Hmm. Can you play Japanese baseball games on an oscilloscope?

They do look tasty eh? What purpose would it serve in an av setup though besides cool aesthetics?

    Holy spaceballs batman!

Never seen one of those Marantz ones before! Amazing.

Didn't know that "hifi" oscilloscopes existed.

    Want!

They're used for tuning and playing with levels, but to be honest I'd imagine the real purpose most people want them for is just the cool aesthetics. They look brilliant.

I've been trying to figure out if there might be a cheaper way of having one connected up to my current receiver without having to go out and spend thousands on one of those classic Marantz ones.

They really are some cool things out there you can add to hifis. I quite like this Pioneer reverb unit. Not quite as flash and fancy as an oscilliscope but adds a nice bit of movement to your hifi - and messing with reverb can add some great sounds too

Is €52 including shipping a good price for a Super Famicom from Japan?

It comes with 2 controllers and an A/V cable.

I'll probably use my mega drive PSU for it, so not bothered about the lack of a PSU.

Savage, thats almost like the Roland Space Echo or something!
Almost seems like a shame to have it in a hifi and not use it for music production.
Although you could always use the hifi as an effects unit.

I managed to snag another 2 Nintendo iQue consoles for a very good price (free) so that means I'll be putting the one I got last month up for trade or sale on Adverts (2 is just the right amount of iQue :))
I'll be sticking it up later tonight and should be doing a fairly decent price on it.

Just a heads up in case anyone is interested. I'll post a link here when the ad or trade is live.

Not sure yet. With the extra games that are installed on it(with valid license cards) probably around the 90-100 mark.

Apart from having it, is there any benefit to having an iQue?

It's an interesting device. More a curio than something you'd play all the time.
The games run at a slight frame rate increase and the games are nearly all later revisions of the carts so bugs have been fixed and that sort of thing.

The ad is up by the way.

Dave from the EEVblog mentioned in one of his videos that he got some of his 'scopes from people he talked to at schools, colleges and universities. They were simply going to throw 'em out. So he asked. End result: a bunch of vintage tools, each worth hundreds.

    For free.

Note, this is more electrical diagnostic and testing oscilloscope. Doesn't exactly look like it'd blend in with your hi-fi unit, and I doubt music production courses in college would have the same apply. Though no harm in finding out I guess.

We (the company I work for) moved into what used to be a circuit board manufacturing factory in Limerick; In the unit next door which we acquired was a room filled with (and I do mean filled) oscilloscopes. Before I could get them out that day we got the keys, they were all sold for scrap.... (so maybe €50 for the pile...?)

On another note; I don't know what to make of this:

Who ever butchered that Taito table needs a short sharp visit from the Smack Fairy!

I wonder how much work there'd be in converting it into a Jamma cab, or better still, into a Space Invaders cab, with the correct livery?
