Pat Cox just said the 'governmental elite in Ireland' are in denial and have treated the people with contempt.

Vincent Browne's addressing the nation at 10.30 on TV3. There's gonna be blood, guts and exploding TVs.

No mention of anything about it on the RTE website. Every bit of reliable news I have gotten about this whole thing in the last week has come from the UK media. The whole thing is a disgrace:mad:

OMG, are you all looking at Sky news... Its the main story.

Why do people still watch Sky "News" for stuff like this ?

Dont they realise other better news channels have been available for quite some time now ?

    Politics.ie server kicked the bucket.

I know Cowen won't be resigning. I'll bet my house on it.

He's just going to tell us that the IMF are here and that there'll be an across the board pay-cut to be announced on budget day.

That's it. Nothing to get too worked up about.

I had to phone home from London to tell my parents in Cork that Cowen is going to be on TV as BBC are being quite informative. We can't run a country, run an economy and apparently can't even run a tv channel.

Mr. Cochrane won't be too impressed, he's permanently on twitter posting links.

Agreed on the Cowen stuff, I can't see anything more earth shattering than we already know coming out.

Market analyst on BBC calls it like it is - bailout is for the two corrupt banks that used 21 years of cheap European money to focus solely on property.

So I abdicate to the eloquence of Stipes, etc

The information nation took their clues from all the sound-bite gluttons
    1980, 84, 88, 92 too, too
How to be what you can be, junk, damn junk in your energy
How to walk in dignity with throw up on your shoes
    They amplified the autumn, 1979
Calculate the capital, offer the public my skinny ass
TV tells a million lies. The paper's terrified to report
Anything that isn't handed on a presidential spoon,
I'm just profoundly frustrated by all this. So, **** you, man (**** 'em)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ignoreland. Yeah, yeah, yeah, ignoreland
If they wasn't there we would have created them. Maybe, it's true,
But I'm resentful all the same. Someone's got to take the blame
I know that this is vitriol. No solution, spleen venting,
But I feel better having screamed. Don't you?

its so f*cking unbelievable that RTE aren't reporting anything on this - why oh why are we having to rely on foreign news. Sack the whole frigging lot of then. Bet they waiting till Fair City is over so RTE can make everyone watch that sh*t programme.

Truely shocking at a moment in Irish history like this that the so called "national broadcaster" Rte is nowhere to be seen.
    Unreal

I would just like to use this opportunity to thank our national broadcaster (the BBC) for covering this pivotal moment.

    Fúck you RTE.
