My PC doesnt have that good of a proccesser, but I can run Minecraft on my 32" while running Windows Live, itunes, Teamviewer, firefox etc on the main monitor

How likely is a reset in the next couple of days? I have a stupid super project in mind. A huge (45 block diameter) tower that goes up as high as it can. Internally, anyone who wants to can have their own floor, and do with it what they will.

The round tower in my keep is only a 21 block diameter tower, and that took hours to build.

I reckon 45 blocks across works out at 140 stone per circumference. If we allow floors 4 blocks high it means a 10 story high shell, without floors or internal walls, is gonna take about 7000 cobbles.

I think I may need a hand with this =/

When I went into the hull she blew, and froze my screen for a good 30seconds

Ya, the boat explosion was pretty epic though, the entire thing just vanished and there is (as tallon said) a lovely boat shaped hole, and a few spare blocks floating in the air.

Ok, great. I'll get started tonight so. I'll probably have to level out something to get a 45*45 flat area though.

Anyone up for assisting with this?

You should make the entire thing out of lightstone blocks.

i should be on tonight so should be able to give you a hand.

i have an idea. instead of placing 7000 or so cobblestones why not build one line of blocks up and then build an outer ring then get a bucket of lava and dump it down. once it hits the bottom pour water over it.

Voila: Instant Cobblestone.

once you have the walls built then you can start on the floors in between

I've seaid it before lads, feel free to throw your own on your own machines.

It's so easy to setup, and the server EXE is free from the site

It creates a folder as soon as you run it and autosaves every minute

Nice, try it. I'm having problems with the UPC modem on my connection. Have ports forwarded on my router but it stops at the modem, which is inaccessible

There are a couple of different servers too, if you are not running windows.

I know there are a set of python wrappers available too.

There is information on the wiki here and there is a set of admin tools available on the minecraft forums here.

Also, if you do decide to set up a server, make sure you don't post the IP address publicly here, it's just as a little deterrent to keep away griefers.

Okay, got it setup on the box now, if you wanna try it, let me know and I'll PM the IP.

Not sure what it can take so hammer away at it until we see how it shapes up
