Generally speaking, as a guy, no.
When i worked shifts and had days off during the week, and all my mates working mon-fri, I have been driven to venture out on a thursday alone.. but that was years ago.
And there'd be no way I'd sit in a corner all alone, I'd be bopping away on the dancefloor with a beer in each hand for the whole night, and if anyone asked who i was here with #i'd have a quick look around, and say ah they're here somewhere, and comment on how her dress would look really good on my floor

Those people who think that it's "weird" to go to a pub/club on their own or that it’s “sad” to go by yourself to the cinema or those who cannot pluck up the courage to sit by themselves in a restaurant for fear of being branded a loner are merely highlighting their own insecurities and inhibitions. People who make these types of statements may as well put a sign on their forehead which reads “This Brain is Closed For Business”

Anyone here ever go on a date with a girl who wants to meet at the front door of a pub because she is too embarrassed to go inside on her own? Immediately I know what type of woman they are and already I’ve lost interest. I know they are the type of woman who is looking for a man to latch on to and make all of life’s tough decisions for them because they can’t make one for themselves. I know that they most likely watch the Sex and the City, and think that Carrie Bradshaw is a female role model and a woman they try to emulate. I know that there is a strong possibility that they have little or no career ambition and are ticking away in the same monotonous job waiting to meet Mr Big who will hopefully earn enough money to support the two of them.

    Fantastic post, well said.
