    Some seem to read a lot into Thanks on both sides, either hatred of it or putting immense value on the amount of thanks.

    To me, I use it if the post is funny and it's like "well done that man" type acknowledgement of the time and effort involved. Also if it conveys a point that sometimes I can't get across.

    It's nice when you get a few thanks but it doesn't necessarily mean much!
