Nope, I manually deleted all files so I could do a fresh install of the game.
I didn't buy it through Steam, so perhaps the Steam version doesn't have cloud sync, but either way. Its a great feature for games.

Tell me how it is, I saw that model too. But I like the look of the trigger model more.
I'm also considering getting a DAS Keyboard.

I just got my new CM storm quickfire today.
In fairness to scan it was really well packaged with a couple of layers of bubble wrap around the actual box. The final cost including delivery and the £4 off from the avforum loyalty programme was €95.52 - seems alot dearer in euros.
First impressions are its really heavy for the size of it and feels very well made. The usb cable is braided nicely and feels quality -although its kinda awkard to plug into the back of the keyboard.
I was surprised how easy the keys were to press - I was expecting it to be much harder as its a black switch. i can definitely feel a little resistace and my fingers do get a little tired after alot of typing (like now) but its a satifying keyboard to type on. I would love to try the blue switches and I would probably pick that as first choice as I am not too much of a gamer.
The keyboard grips to my desk very well and it doesnt slide around at all -which is good. I had a quick game of warcraft 3 to see what its like in a game and I didnt have any trouble. The red led to turn off the windows keys/caps lock is too bright and can catch your attention alot.
I have to reposition my hands alot as im so used to typing on my laptop and I usually rest my hands on the edge.
Its strange not having a numpad but it does seem more comfortable to hold the mouse closer to the keyboard. My arms are perfectly positioned for the mouse and keyboard if keep my arms on the arm rest of the chair. There is no wrist rest supplied and I am gonna get one as I am so used to working with one.
Have only used it a few times now but Im glad I got it. I needed something smaller as you can see from the images but this seems a great keyboard and feels really well made. If I could I would go for at least brown switch as my fingers do get fatigued after some time and a couple of times I havent pressed the keys hard enough to register.
Next week my new pc will be setup instead of the current layout- I have the silverstone tj08-e case waiting on hardwareversand :D

    thanks.
No idea what to do with the logitech keyboard. Its in the wardrobe for now:D
i will really miss the macro buttons on it - they are so useful!

I do like the look of the CM Quick Fire.
But as you said yourself, I'd rather wait for browns on a keyboard I really like, then settle for some thing else.

Not trying to ruin a deal or anything, but organising sales of items through boards is against the rules and you can be banned, adverts is what has to be used. ;)

Also, which gaming mouse would be better, a Logitech G400 or a Razer Orochi.

Iv a Logitech G500 if you decide to go down that route

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 92 ✭✭sosmyface

thanks luyolo but I think im gonna hang onto it and use it with my laptop or something. I got it off littlewoods last year they had it mispriced for €45 or something. Thank god for boards:D

i just showed the logitech in there for the contrast in size and how much of the keyboard tray it took up. It doesnt look it in the pics but they are flush

Yeah, I saw you were selling a G400 on adverts.
But I also saw a guy selling a Razor Orochi for 10euro more so I want to pick whichever is best really.
The Razor one has some leds, and slightly higher DPI, and the same amount of buttons as the G400, and an option to go wireless if I wanted. It sounds like the better option but I wanted to be sure first.

@luyolo, Whilst looking through mices on adverts I saw a guy selling a very similar keyboard to sosmyface's old one. It had the LCD screen, its likely a G19, I just didn't open the ad to have a proper look.

    So my MK-80 arrived yesturday...

It's a very nice keyboard. Backlighting looks wonderful (a lot brighter than my G11, but that could easily be age) and the browns are quite nice to type on once I got used to it - I'm still not quite there yet.

It's been a while since I used Blues, but I think the Browns actually have a bit less tactile feedback. I.e. they're not exactly Blues without the click. A friend of mine has Blue and wants to try Brown, so I might end up re-ordering a Blue one, if it's not crazy-loud in comparison to this.

The only real downsides are the media keys - I'm used to the very big dedicated controls on my G11 vs. the Fn keys on this one. Not quite as nice to use, and the LEDs. For some weird reason, they default to off after a reboot. Not a big deal at all, just weird, as I say.

Edit: Oh, and I apologise for the horrible picture quality once again: Phone.

Got my monitor today :D Everything looks good apart from when windows is first booting up - the screen looks more grey than black :p

Did you guys change anything in the colour settings?

Nice kb Serephucus, compared to the G11, are the key presses noticeably louder?

Guys, what does "single piece" mean on HWVS?

    For example, this.

They are, yeah. The G11 is a pretty damn quiet keyboard to begin with though, and it's old (might/might not make a difference) so that may not be the best comparison.

Hmm... never mind that. I have a Dell keyboard here as well that I just tried out, and they're louder than that as well.

Having said that though, it comes down to how you type. If you're light on your keys, the keyboard is a bit quieter. The main cause of noise for me is the keys bottoming out. Rather than being cushioned by rubber on a traditional keyboard, you get the bottom of the key cap hitting the board, so it's plastic on plastic, and it's reasonably loud.

tl;dr - it's about 1.8-2.2x as loud as a regular keyboard, depending on how you type.

    You mean special item?
It means that its a returned product, its most likely in perfect condition but they still have to label it and lower the price because of the fact that it has been opened before.

I keep getting stuck on my motherboard's splash screen, have to reset the computer multiple times sometimes before I can get past it but then it works fine. It's driving me mental! Thinking it's the card reader I've installed recently, gonna try take it out and see if that changes anything

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 262 ✭✭poggy

do a full bios reset sometimes using the reset jumpers is not enough, take out the bios battery and leave power plugged out with the battery out for about 15 minutes, then replace the battery and boot up.

Off-Topic not on page one  That's not on lads.
Anyway, I'm was very relieved when I found out that GTA IV saves your game progress to the cloud. I was trying to install a few mods to make the game look better earlier and messed up and had to re-install the game. I thought I'd had to start it all over again but it loaded up to the correct mission after launching it. Was very happy.
More games should automatically have this feature. Its not as if game saves are massive files.
Nope, I manually deleted all files so I could do a fresh install of the game.
I didn't buy it through Steam, so perhaps the Steam version doesn't have cloud sync, but either way. Its a great feature for games.

Saves are in your documents folder so deleting the game folder wouldn't get rid of them.

Asrock z68 pro 3 gen 3. Problems only started a few days after I installed a HDD and card reader. Once I'm in the OS there are 0 problems, just getting there is the only issue

that could be issue with new components m8.

for example, my pc will boot and stuck on windows logo if my keyboars is connected in first usb ports and mouse in the second usb port. if i change them around - it works.

try disconecting new stuff one by one and see how it will go.

yeah, this. Switch the ports things are connected to. My computer won't get past the BIOS if the bluetooth thing is plugged into the wrong usb port.

Sometimes on my old Asrock if im messing around with an OC it'll forget the boot priority for a couple of reboots. but it fixes itself and i wont get the problem for a few weeks.

on an unrelated off topic note, Im trying to OC the strangest 2500K at the moment. its golden all the way up to 4.8ghz, but wont boot at all for anything over.

right now im flying through max IBT tests @ 4.8ghz @1.296v
it can do 4.6ghz @ 1.27Xv too. yet it wont even boot into windows @ 5.0ghz @ 1.408v not gonna go any higher vcore than that. 4.8 it is so.
