You can't get Cherry mx clears on most boards. How good they are is debatable.

Clear are a tactile switch that are as heavy as the black switches. That sounds like a fairly tiring combo for a typist or a gamer in a lot of cases no?

I'd be interested to try the clears but i want to get my hands on green switches first but they are so ****ing rare:(

The greens are supposed to be horrible for typists or gaming. Really high actuation force.

There's a reason you don't see them used much.

Started playing it myself earlier also. Wasn't expecting too much honestly i'm not a big fan of FPS but it surprised me a bit! Better than the COD stories anyway!

Battlefield 3 is imo not a game thats supposed to be mainly single player though. The single player is full of set pieces and moments that are enjoyable but the game is out 2 years now,so its definitely gonna feel old and to be honest as a battlefield fan it also seems like the single player is a tutorial for multiplayer.

The multiplayer is the core of this game,to judge it on the single player would be harsh, especially as said its 2 years old(the multiplayer is updated the single player is not),as somebody that came from COD i have to say the learning curve is steep with Battlefield(any version),but once you master the controls from my experience most battlefield games have the same feel for the controls, the difference imo is how they balance they classes. Definitely give it another go,im sure loads of people on here would jump in a squad with you guys and give a rundown of how multiplayer works:)

I'd hoped the single player would at least work though. AI is buggy as hell, gets stuck at nav nodes, faces the wrong way. And if you're in cover and a buddy is scripted to use it you just get shoved into the firing line. And they run into your own 'nades.

Also, f'ck quicktime events. Thats not why anyone buys an FPS.

Battlefield 4 would be better off just multiplayer tbh.

Of course it would but EA are pushing the buttons at DICE now. BF goes the way of cod.

Another generic pos fps game banging out dlc's and sequels every few months.

    Hey guys,

Something has been bothering me more and more lately. I've heard people saying that they can boot their computer and be at the windows login screen in seconds with the addition of an SSD.

I just timed mine - Took me over a minute to reach the login screen.. Is it just me or is that unusually high?

I have a feeling I know what's wrong, but don't know if anything can be done about. I think my BIOS is booting all USB devices before loading past the ASUS logo, so I'm assuming my three external drives are what's responsible for increasing boot time. If anyone has experience of messing with an ASUS BIOS could you point me in the right direction? :)

I'm running Windows 7, but not sure if that's relevant

Windows logo to desktop should be ~10 seconds with most SSDs. On button to logo can usually be another 15 or 20 seconds.

It does sound like your computer is checking the other devices to see if they're bootable. This can add considerable time as you're waiting for hard drives to spin up.

Go into the BIOS menu. Then look for boot order. There's usually a tab just for this or it's usually easy to find as they know that people want access to it for installing OSs etc. Bump your SSD up to the very top of the boot list. You can usually remove devices that you never use.

SSD is indeed on top of this list, but didn't check if I can remove the rest. All the devices are listed in the boot order queue.

I'll reboot now and see if I can remove them.

    :)

    Speaking of Uefi/Bios....

Bios A on my board is donald ducked

I spent the last two days trying to fix it with no luck and on thursday opened a support ticket with MSI.
I got a very generic unhelpful reply telling me to try something that i had already done and had told i'd done.
No doubt they dont work weekends so f knows when i will get a reply.

    Rant over

Okay I went messing with some of the settings.

Removed all devices from the boot queue, except for my SSD.

Enabled Fast Boot (Thought it was already on) but now the ASUS logo doesn't appear at all. I'm assuming I can still enter the BIOS but haven't tried.. :pac:

Times now: 'Windows Starting' appears for 17 seconds, followed by a black screen for 35 seconds until the Windows login menu appears. Any ideas on why I'm getting that black screen?

So for the double post :o Should I make my own thread somewhere?

I'm currently running Prime95 on got this error on Worker #8

FATAL ERROR: Resulting sum was -154176336445504.2, expected: 334898163871122.3 Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

I'm assuming this is bad. Because it sounds very bad.

I ran two phases of memtest86+ and it came back perfectly fine with no errors so that should rule out dodgy RAM.

I really don't want to have to return this CPU.

EDIT: Temperatures are also okay. CPU temps stayed below 60 for the entire test with all fans up to 100% and my case open. Mobo is below 30.

Don't use prime with 8350, it's outdated... same as with haswell. Your CPU is fine... try OCCT

Star Citizen has had some requirements released:
A dual core and 8gb of ram is the minimum requirements

A GTX770 will run the game at medium and it looks like it will need a top tier 8 or 9 series (possibly Maxwell Architecture) to run on max smoothly

That's pretty slow alright. Even my small relatively slow Agility 3 loads windows in about 17 seconds.

Is your ssd connected to a sata 3 port?

You could try enabling more cpu cores for the boot as well.

Type msconfig in the windows search bar.

    Go to boot tab.

    Advanced options.

Change the amount of processors to 8 in your case.

Found error within 3 minutes after two different tests :-\
