Bahahaha, GTFO. After the first day of clomid you get the closest to what a woman feels like during PMS that ya ever, ever want to be. Nolva might not be as effective but the mood problems are definitely less of a problem.

+1 AND you have to take it for a month PCT...some people get borderline suicidal on the stuff.

Hell yeah, buddy. A friend of mine lasted 2 days on it and had to switch to nolva. I'm pretty sure he wouldda strung himself up if he had to do another day of PCT with clomid. It's the stuff of the devil.
I can guarantee that he will never do a PCT involving clomid again. Would rather lose all his gains than have to touch that crap again. Biggest head**** ever.

If you must read "Studies" on subjects like that, try Carlton Leech's book Muscle..a man who took every illegal drug available and to this day maintains steroids were the most destructive.

    Snap.

I worked with a lorry driver in London who used to be a bouncer in Leech's company, he said that when he was on the juice long-term his temper went through the roof.

There was a program on UK tv not long ago about young people getting into bodybuilding. It highlighted one young man at 17 who did just this. Didn't drink water for the last day, drank a bottle of wine that night. and ate no carbs for the best part of a week.

When you have an industry that is rewarding ever more cut looks then it's little surprise pople will do this. It's pretty dire I think.

In one case where the man in question won a comp he got naturally excited and drank some wine forgetting to rehydrate, collapsed and ended up in hospital. Thats how near the edge the body is.

It wouldn't matter to me if there were many studies which "proved" that alcohol doesn't have any effect on aggression levels. Based on what I believe to be logic (i.e. increased levels of testerone will increase aggression within an individual, decreased levels = decreased aggression etc), what I've experienced myself and seen in others, I believe that alcohol does indeed have this effect.
    ???
I'm pretty sure that no study is ever going to prove that. People clearly become asshoels on the sauce.

    ****ing steriods.
My girlfriend takes oral steriods, she cycles them, three weeks on one week off. The funny thing is that while on them she is much more relaxed, and in general a nice person to be around. The week she goes off them she changes into an evil hellbeast, and her temper goes through the roof :(

Three weeks is a very short cycle indeed.
What sort of steroids does she take and for what effect?

Or do you mean the 'pill'??:)

This is exactly why I believe they cause the so-called "roid rage".

If a drug mimics the effect of testosterone to build muscle, why wouldn't it increase aggression in those who take them regularly and over a long period of time?

When it comes to steroids, my beliefs about its negative effects on mood are based more on the accounts of users and ex-users (mostly retired pro bodybuilders who were once amongst the elite e.g. Mike Matarazzo) than any study I've read.

    I agree 100%.

This is my last post on this topic. I never meant to drag it off-thread - my first post had that exact effect though!

Alcohol doesnt have any disconcertable effect on aggressive tendencies but it does lower inhibitions...the same inhibitions that will keep you from entering in a physical confrontation where your initial and base instinct would be to freeze or fly...instead of fight.

The steroids actually will cause the body to depend on the drug through long use abuse. Prolonged abuse will actually lower inhibitions similar to the effects of short term alcohol use. This combined with the mood swings can add to the coining of the general term 'roid rage'.

Nope..the reason testo makes people "rage" is because of the effect it has on the body..from the moment it starts to take effect.

With Test-E,it takes about two weeks for strength increases and elevated agression to become apparant.

The two go hand in hand because testosterone causes agressive behaviour in people..hence the term "there's too much testosterone round here" etc.
Increased agression combined with elevated strength is what make you train harder in thegm and lift heavier weights.

Testosterone doesnt "lower inhibitions"..it causes increased agression and androgonous effects..this is why it is desirable as an aid to strength and size.

And it doesnt take "long term abuse" to give rise to "roid rage"..if anything the first cycle is where the biggest gains will come from and as the user has less experience of teh virilizing effects of the drugs and as such may be less able to cope with the increased levels of agression(if any).

Steroids are not like alcohol..alcohol supresses the endocrine system, steroids stimulate it.

The short term effects of the drugs will stimulate and facilitate feelings of euphoria, I was highlighting the psychological processes from taking steroids and the dependence that is associated with it. I didnt once say that alcohol is similar to steroid abuse (It is one of the most comman substance abuses in the world). You are associating both substances on a hormonal level whereas mine was on a psycho-physiological level...if you combine your post and mine we have a fairly comprehensive and holistic explanation as we are both correct :)

    The above makes no sense,

You are trying to make a case that roid rage exists. ie That testosterone causes increased aggression.
So you can'y simply state "testosterone causes agressive behaviour" as proof.
Testosterone has a number of functions, none of which are related to aggression.

Also, there phrase too much testosterone around here is because its a "male" hormone and its used when the men clash in a situation. It's anecdotal, not scientific.

Low levels of testosterone causes hypogonadism which leads to irritability and aggression in men.

Here is a study on testosterone,
    http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM199607043350101#
The Effects of Supraphysiologic Doses of Testosterone on Muscle Size and Strength in Normal Men

    Results.
No differences were found between the exercise groups and the no-exercise groups or between the placebo groups and the testosterone groups in any of the five subcategories of anger assessed by the Multidimensional Anger Inventory. No significant changes in mood or behavior were reported by the men on the Mood Inventory or by their live-in partners, spouses, or parents on the Observer Mood Inventory

    Now, I am not going to blindly believe that there is no such thing as roid rage and that peopel don't get aggressive when juicing. The anecdotal evidence alone is enough for me, no smoke without fire etc. But;

The human mind is a powerful thing, if somebody is led to believe that taking X, Y or Z will make him a bit aggressive, then he will become aggressive, regardless of the effects of X, Y or Z.
I'm not saying for a second that 'roid rage is completely mental*and its jsut a placebo effect. But the power of suggestion plays a part and regardless of your opinion on testosterone and rage, you can't argue with the fact that some of the witnessed aggression is created mentally.

    *I've no real opinion on it, and frankly, I don't know for sure. But what I do know, and I am 100% sure of this, is that;
    1. Not everyone suffers from aggression or 'roid rage when cycling testosterone
    2. Those that do appear more aggressive, at least some (could be all, could be a tiny %) of it is down to a placebo effect

You can cite all the internet studies in the world but anybody who has experience with cycling test will tell you it causes agression..the whys and the wherefores are not important.

    What's an internet study?

Read my post afain, I never said it doesn't.
If somebody cycles it, and gets aggressive, how do you know that its the test causing it, or just his own preconcived ideas.

    Do you disagree with;
Not everyone suffers from aggression or 'roid rage when cycling testosterone
Those that do appear more aggressive, at least some (could be all, could be a tiny %) of it is down to a placebo effect

What if he didnt have "preconceived ideas" and the agression came as an unwelcome surprise?.

Like you start flipping out over things that wouldnt normally bother you such as waiting in a queue or somebody driving too slowly in front of you.

Agression is not something most people want, especially when it starts to affect thier relationships, family life or whatever.. most people will not voluntarily start acting up because theythink the drug they're taking requires it..they may start acting up because the drug is influencing them, often against their better judgement.

Its quite simple really,if you see people after pissing themselves in the street because they're so drunk they cant remember thier name, this is bacause of the effects of large quantities of alcohol on the body, not some sort of thought-out role play to conform to a preheld idea.

A placebo will only take you so far..you can get a placebo LSD trip and you might imagine you're seeing thngs for a few minutes but after an hour or so you'll know its not working.
You wont be hamming up agression 24/7 because you think its the way you're supposed to behave,it just doesnt work like that..what about the high blood pressure associated with test..is that just the mind working overtime too?

And you stil didn't answer my question, do you agree with the above two statements? Yay or Nay
