Dill hot smoked salmon, romaine lettuce with a squeeze of lemon, two Irish apples and a Satsuma.

I had polenta with a med style veg stew.

I've never had polenta before, it was very very meh when tasted on it's own. So much so I nearly left it off the plate to just have the veg. But with the rich and slightly spicy sauce it was fab. Really really nice lunch.

My father-in-law came over for lunch, so my husband made sourdough rye bread and celeriac-carrot soup. I was in charge of sweets and chose to make an apple tart with lots of cinnamon.

Chicken nugget (so sue me, I'd no "real" chicken defrosted) salad with southwest yoghurt dressing and toasted seeds.

Went to Fallons of Kilcullen for Sunday lunch and enjoyed it immensely. My favourite was the starter, a goat's cheese salad with butternut squash, rocket, beetroot jam and candied peanuts. The main was solid, a roast chicken breast with mash, red cabbage and gravy, and dessert was a brownie with a selection of homemade ice-creams. Didn't need another meal today!

I had a paella from Marks and Spencers. My mother bought it for me when she was there the other day. It was not great. It read super bland. I wouldn't get it again.

Chicken tikka wrap. Delicious it was.

I'm obsessed with wraps lately, they are so tasty and quick.

Toasted pitta with some kind of chilli hummous from Tesco. Lazy goodness.

Took the dog out for a good hour-long walk earlier and came back starving and frozen, so I had a very bold lunch of a pumpkin-seed roll with peppered salami, melted emmenthal, spinach, onions and a warm egg, with a side of skinny oven chips. I regret nothing!

Chilli halloumi and a fried duck egg. I adore duck eggs, so much more yolk!

Avocado and poached eggs on toast. I very much wanted to like it but the avocado was just too sweet, even with salt :(

My version of imam baylidi with a bit of yoghurt on top, some grilled halloumi and pita bread.

Very satisfying, and I could pretend for a moment that it was sunny and warm outside...

A cheese, ham, tomato and pine nut frittata, made with the amazing eggs I've started having delivered from the allotments near my house :)

A tuna melt that must have weight a kilo. With inexplicable greek salad thrown into it. Nice but odd.

Posh toasted ham and cheese sambos. One had parma ham, the other, a kind of salami. Leftovers from an antipasti I bought yesterday at the farmers market. Had a few chilli olives on the side too.

I had the muscle builder salad in 37 West in Galway City and sweet mother it was the nicest salad I've ever had.

This isn't my picture. It's one from their Facebook but this was the meal I chose.

    The salad dressing was unreal.

We had charity lunches at work, and I had brought in black bean burritos, with tomato chili salsa and some sour cream. Very, very yummy indeed, but unfortunately it looks a right dog's dinner on a photo
