The final NUI Galway-funded Exponential event - which allows Galwegians to meet company founders, entrepreneurs and like-minded people in a casual atmosphere - will take place UPSTAIRS AT KELLY’S on Tuesday, 19 March at 7:30 PM. The final guest speaker will be Barry O’Sullivan, Senior Vice President at Cisco Systems and one of the new “Dragons” on RTÉ’s Dragon’s Den show.

Over the past four months, Exponential has given hundreds of people the opportunity to meet some of Ireland’s technology start-up companies and innovative entrepreneurs, to share ideas and experiences and get advice.

The final event will centre around a “fireside chat” with one of Ireland’s top technology leaders, Barry O’Sullivan. As well as his role as SVP at Cisco, O’Sullivan is a technology investor and co-founder of the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG), a network of Irish and Irish American technology leaders. O’Sullivan recently joined the investors on Dragon’s Den, now screening on Sunday nights.

Some of the topics for discussion on the night will include O’Sullivan’s take on how he found the whole Dragon’s Den experience, how startups should go about getting funding, and some advice for people on what to do (or not to do) when starting with their business model.

Throughout the night, attendees will be able to interact with other startup company founders, speak to potential employers in a casual environment, and learn what it takes to develop a business idea, form a team, raise finance, set up and run a company. Those who already have a novel idea for a product or business can share their idea and get advice and feedback from fellow students and other entrepreneurs.

This is a free event, open to all, but you do need to register at http://exponential4.eventbrite.com

Leave this one here, just for me. Thanks!

I actually thought this was quite cheap for a Saturday night gig. Arnt usually places in town like a tenner or more at the weekend? And a free shot?
I have no idea who the DJs are or what sort of music it is  But beats paying a fortune to hear the same stuff thats on my radio 299843_10151393063778557_691404986_n.jpg

Mods I have no idea how to make the picture appear in this post!

Athenry Music School are holding a 'Mega Concert' in Galway Cathedral on Sunday 14th of April at 3pm. It's a mightly little programme with everything from Cloudsong from Riverdance to a very cool version of Karl Jenkins Palladio! And here's the best part..... IT's FREE!!!

It's not a long programme (only about an hour) so it's suitable to bring the family. Ye can't say fairer than that!

A unique event will take place in the city centre Friday to raise awareness of the mass hunger strike in the U.S Guantanamo Bay prison.
It'll see hooded prisoners in orange boiler suits standing in bus queues or standing in the queue at ATMs or sitting at the Wilde Statue on Shop Street.
It's being organised by Galway Alliance Against War and the 'Guantanamo Prisoners' will assemble at 12.45p.m at Wilde's statue.

    Should be interesting to observe!

    Reoccupy Galway:
“To mark the anniversary of the unconstitutional dismantling and destruction of our camp in Eyre Square, Occupy Galway will be holding an event.”
“Re-Occupy Eyre Square will be a day of music, workshops, food and informative talks, revisiting the reasons for the setting up of the camp and asking, “Has anything gotten any better?” “What can we do to affect constructive change?” “The event will take place on Thursday the 16th of May from 12:00 midday.”
