Is this ahead of schedule? If so when do we expect it to open?

    Great photo thanks.
It looks like all pillars except the one closest to the river are up at deck level?
Does anyone know if they'll start attaching deck before they increase the pillars above deck height for the cable supports?
What kind of progress are they making at the Ruane side?

This is the house on the hill that will feel isolated when the bypass is open
They have the motorway passing in front of them and a slip road to the right .
Its been said that soundproof windows were installed .

Rumours about refusal to agree to CPOs abound whenever a house is left near a road. You can't refuse to agree to a CPO - they can go to the courts to devise a price.

And if that family was given the choice to move, they'd be nuts not to have taken it, given their proximity to the new road.

I was around New Ross last weekend so decided to have a look at the new Barrow Crossing site which will be part of the New Ross bypass along the N25:

We are on the west (Kilkenny) bank of the river Barrow, looking from the south:

View to the east (Wexford) side of the river:

What is this structure rising towards the right of the main pillar?

After a bit of a detour I'm approaching the site from the north. It really will be an impressive bridge:

Now, what is tris structure just a bit south of the main pillar at the pink rock?

It is going to be great view from here once construction progresses a bit further:

And some slightly blurry shots from the distance, give good overview of the crossing site:

You can see they are starting constructing slip forms for the deck, on the far east of the bridge:

Judging from the progress of the pillars the bridge deck will be probably constructed from the west to east.
Does anyone knows if they will push the bridge deck from the bank of the river or will it be constructed on top of the pillars from the suspended scaffoldings and slip forms?

Anyway, that's it from me. I have to say they are taking their time. I thought the project would be a little bit more advanced ans the site a bit more active at the peak of the construction season. OK, it was Saturday, around 1pm, but it is also the beast weather for construction in Ireland and the days are long.

A few shots of the N25, somewhere here will be the new junction leading towards the bridge and the bypass:

Looking eastbound (here north really) towards New Ross:

    And westbound towards Waterford:

New junction, (roundabout really), will be located somewhere beyond this bend:

Based on the Project webpage I'm guessing this is it?
Works on the River Barrow Bridge have turned to pier stem construction, some of which are now visible on both sides of the river, there is some additional piling required for temporary supports about to commence on the east side of the river.

    20th August 2020

Surely might be ready before then? I'd have thought another year would see it largely completed at this rate. Contract probably says otherwise.

Not been paying much attention to this thread so apologies if this is obvious - Are they constructing the connecting roads at the same time?

I think that date might of been said in jest. Signage along the road says 2019. Isnt it due about a year after the Enniscorthy bypass is completed? I could be wrong on that tho.

At the turning of the sod in 2016 it was announced that the completion date is late 2019 .

I don' know how things are going either ahead of , or behind schedule . but lots of progress is been made .

Speaking of the harvest, what you see there is some of the best farmland in the whole country.
