And there it is. The disaster. Goodnight folks

Sponsors pay to be seen, or take a punt on a up and comers who may be seen in the future. They're not crazy.

Don't buy that at all. As a three time major winner he will always get air time with golf channels, plus he always comes across as a decent fella.

After one decent round of -3 he made the headline photo of the BBC Sport Golf page.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/golf/

with a further photo through this link

Surely potential sponsors would see this as a decent opportunity.

Anybody understand the point in going from a bunker to a bunker on a par 5.

As someone else said - i think GreeBo - he needs a real rethink of how he is actually playing par 5s.

Yes, par 5s seem to be a real problem for him at present. Another bunker odyssey at the 8th.

It's very rare that any pro would be without a hat sponsor.
There are a hell of a lot of pros out there that don't get the coverage that PH still does.

I wouldn't be surprised if gofuzed.com has gone bust or reneged on a deal.

PH would have no problem getting a sponsor. They would just pay far far less than they who of paid years ago.

Edit: www.gofuzed.com looks like it's gone wallop

Outside the cut line now, made most of his birdies on the back 9 yesterday so you never know

And there is his 8. A year off Paddy would do you the world of good.

My PGA tour leaderboard has crashed. How did he manage to get an 8?

    Told ye!

Anyone see the stat earlier on showing how he's in the top 5 in the lowest to par around the Shell Houston? Something like -38. Hard to imagine.

Drive bang down the middle, 143 yards to the pin so should be an easy bird for him.

    Good birdie at the 11th.

Given all the talk on here about Padraig's play on the Par 5's recently, I thought I would share this interesting information about his play on the Par 5's at the Golf Club of Houston:

Padraig is -38 for the Par 5's (before his 8 on the 8th today, so now -35!!)

Mickelson leads this category on -44

Obviously most of this score was accumulated in his GOOD years but interesting non the less.

Got the par putt, that's three in a row from 15 feet or so.
Onto a par 5 now which is playing the easiest hole on the course
