    I'm just back from Intershoot.
I picked up 125grain nosler tipped HPS .308's

The Zeroing will have to wait until another day as the 300mile+ trip has me wrecked.

On a personal note, I would like to send a huge thank you to Intershoot for the hospitality I recieved.
Not to many RFD's provide Tea,Ham sandwiches & cake on arrival!
I will defenately return, and soon; Although I think I will take 4 wheels next time.
Motorbiking to South Tyrone and back from the midlands in the one day was no picnic.

Thats the plan, I'll try and get a loan of a chrono. if I chronograph-ed them while Zeroing t'would be great.

however it is lashing rain out at this minute, and i am working tonight through Tuesday.

So Weather permitting i won't be zeroing until wed Avo.
if any body wants to loan a Chrono in the interests of science please contact me (I am not going to buy one as I have4 enough junk as is :D )

    His contact is sam@intershoot.co.uk

The Bullet is the same in .30-06. Both are 30 cal's.
The only ammo he can not currently source is 6XC other than that AFAIK he has every thing else.

They seem to be a screamer. I only got to fire off a few shots. Considering it is quite blustery and I am pressed for time & It was raining up until a few minutes ago.
this was my best group to date.
I'll try again next week if I get a chance & Dwight's chronograph would be handy ;)

I was never a great English scholar, and the spell checker on this yokie is in Americana ;)

You might be offered cake; if you go there too!
It was much appreciated "the cake"; that day It was well over 300 miles round trip on a motorbike which is a fair spin by anyone in the know's standards.

The two RFD's I frequent the most threat me well on arrival.

As the old saying goes "it's nice to be important, it's more important to be nice"
And any dealer that treats me well I will tell everyone!

RFD's take note, Cake sells ammo !
This must be taken in the context of the cake v ammo profit margin equation. This is a vital component in the whole cake supply system and cannot be overstated. For example when Marie Antoinette famously said 'let them eat cake', she had no doubt already calculated that ammo was not in plentiful supply in Paris at the time and therefore the relative value of cake was much less than the value of ammo. Of course the actual French language quote refers to brioche which is more bread than cake and obviously would have a further effect on the whole cake/ammo relationship.

Mathematically the equation can be expressed as CPT=A/C where CPT is the Cake Provision Threshold (the point where the probability of the provision of cake crosses from improbable to probable), C is the cost of the cake and A is the Ammo profit margin.

A threshold value of five or higher indicates the increased probability of the provision of cake, whereas a value of less than five indicates that cake will probably not be provided, and in fact you might be lucky to just get a digestive biscuit (with or without tea).

A corollary to the cake provision probability theorem is the Previous Cake Provision Decay Quotient (PCPDQ) which posits that should you arrive in a period where the CPT has already been acheived, the chances are that you'll get a slice of cake because a previous visitor or visitors had already equalled or exceeded the CPT and the probability of the Cake going off before the CPT is next reached creates a decay quotient which increases the CPT to a value of greater than 5. The value of the PCPDQ is expressed by the formula CPT+(D-T) where D is the number of days since the cake was last provided and T is the number of days before the Cake's best before date.

Or it could just be chance :D

Do the prices change much if fire-formed brass is supplied for a given cartridge? I've some .25-06 brass lying around which could do with a new lease on life if it were affordable. Would be curious to try a couple of different bullets in it anyway.

    Hi IWM,

There is no allowance made for the provision of brass, as the arguement is it takes longer to check and prepare as their own stock. Prices will be similar to the reloaded (R/L) brass rates on the list - compared to the new brass (N/B) ones of course!

If you have a bullet in mind I can get a price, as they will probably have to buy the BT's in (Sierra or Nosler). They generally require a min of 300-400 cases to fill the tumblers.

    :)

here is a bit of Cabellas write up on the 125grain Nosler

This bullet delivers the kind of accuracy, consistency and down-range punch required for clean kills in all situations. These flat-shooting, wind-defying bullets use ballistic-designed boat-tails and polycarbonate tips to increase long-range efficiency and protect against tip damage in the magazine. Unique tapered jacket provides controlled expansion at all practical ranges and velocities
