hey, as regards paying the fees, i got a letter of the council today saying i will be getting the full grant. what will i do?

Hiya, when you log on to go and register there'll be an option for just "Register" as distinct from "Pay and Register". In your case you should just click "Register".

I talked with the Registration crew today and they're going to add this to the FAQs
    http://www.dit.ie/registration/faqs/

Hey, do you know what the story is for postgrads? I'll be starting a masters in September - when will we hear something about registering? Thanks.

You should hear from your programme coordinator soon. If you're doing a fulltime Post-grad course, you can find the date/time of your registration here:
    http://www.dit.ie/registration/registrationnext/

For part-time programmes: Information on Part-time programmes, such as start dates & timetables etc, is available from the relevant School/Department

I'm in the same boat. Starting a MSc in 3 weeks and still received sweet f all!

Rang the course co-ordinator and he didn't really seem to know anything, just told me to sit tight for now

Oh well, been in the place for four years now, never ceases to amaze me how totally un-coordinated the place is. Everythings a last minute operation and nobody knows anything

Just some more info from the Registration team about what to do if you will be in receipt of a grant:

"All students who have received written confirmation from your local
authority (ie County Council or Vocational Education Committee VEC)
that you will be in receipt of a grant must bring a copy of your
letter with you to submit to registration staff when you collect your
DIT Student ID card. Registration staff will be available to collect
it from you at this session and stamp any other documentation you may
need stamped eg social welfare, children allowance forms."

Again, any specific queries, the helpline details are:

    Email
    Registration.Service@dit.ie

    Telephone - Registration Helpline
    01 - 402 7000 (Helpline Opening Hours - Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.00pm)

Just to answer some of the questions on Registration - the Registrations Office folk asked me to post this on Boards.

Full-time students returning to DIT in September 2010 - How do I register?
Returning full-time students will be sent an invitation to register by email. The email will be sent to your DIT email account containing your Registration PIN which allows you to register and pay your fees on-line. Emails are being sent from 18th August until 27th August.
Don't panic if you do not receive your email on the 18th - we will get to you. Just check your email regularly over this period. If you have not used your DIT email account for 60 days it may have expired. If you get this error wait 15 minutes to allow it to re-enable and just try to login again. Visit DIT's registration service website for all information you will need to register www.dit.ie/registration

It's now the night of the 26th and I still have no email about registration... Fingers crossed that I get an email tomorrow :(

I got mine today at 1pm! hey left it close enough but I'm glad I didn't have to start fetching phone numbers to ask the college what the deal was.

Also even though I'm going into 3rd year this is my first year doing online registration and I was wondering is it normal to say I have €0 to pay online? Is that just fees or will I get a bank giro in the post soon to pay to register? Like the €1500 like last year?

You won't be asked to register until you pass your repeats...

The same thing happened to me, they must be giving us a free year:rolleyes:
I would say they will probably post out a giro in the comming days cos there not supposed to hand out student cards until your fees are paid.

I was getting letters from the college up until last Feb stating that my fee's still weren't paid...Thats what it is to have the VEC pay your fees!
