Kilkenny 13/8 v Waterford on Sunday week. Both sides have lost the opening two games but while KK have been competitive, Waterford have been all at sea and are clearly still in pre-season mode. TJ Reid likely to be back for KK also. Waterford at home but strangely enough that's not a huge advantage for them. Max bet. Reckon the odds will come in quite a bit.

Lads a few bets for the weekend, what are your thoughts. Roscommon - 3 vs down
    Laois - 9 vs Waterford
    Tipp - 2 vs clare
    Galway 11/10 vs Mayo?

Would fancy the tipp and Roscommon parts . Laois look a cut above in division 4 so should have good chance . Just very hard to call mayo and Galway . Mayo surely put in a performance after being flat last week .... kinda game where u think draw is a runner

Can't see it to be honest, the Galway championship was poor enough this year and Cuala will excel in Semple Stadium.

Sluaghtneil (sp?) +12 looks a great bet to me, forecast is poor and they are very under rated.

I think there worth a small bet at 11 to 2 . They were average enough in quarter and semi final but they played very well in final and should have won a lot easier . Certainly don't see a hammering . Hope I'm not wrong

They made it a hell of a lot harder than it should have been really, it was like they didnt know what to do when they had a chance of winning but they got there!

Both All Ireland hurling semi finals finish under in the total points.

    Carlow 1-4 Leitrim 0-3 after 30 minutes.

    Pitch inspection in Cavan.

Unders the way to go for tonight's games?

yeah, id down the higher prices alt lines and they all came in bar that one which was gone at ht, roscommon well unders thou as main play.

Speaking of weather, rain can be over rated as it can often give up cheap goals n the like, wind is the real big factor in turning a game unders

Looking at Offaly +13 v Galway at the weekend. Might be big especially if its a wet and windy Salthill. Sending off probably skewed the Offaly result v Limerick a bit.

I think Monaghan are a good bet vs Kerry at 13/8.
Kerry have lost their starting midfield to UCD's Sigerson bid. Iniskeen is tight and extremely heavy. Guys couldn't bounce the ball in the UCD v UUJ game.

Obviously its hard to tell what team Kerry might put out but if it is full of young lads again I'd expect Monaghan to do the business by 3 or 4.

Any thoughts on Roscommon v Galway?I would've had galway down as favorites taking into account that they won't have their nuig players.

Thats a bit left field! Monaghan's 2 games have been nailbiters as have Kerry's. Tight pitch, wet day, missing Sigerson players (Kerry's midfield pairing).

He might know something about returning Kerry players that I don't but to me that seems like a bizzare call.

Fermanagh on ht/ft at 7/5 boyles looks touch value evens elsewhere looks the right price for that.

In Waterford, I see dry conditions for most part with next to no wind, line of o43.5 at evens with 365 I will play that one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,381 ✭✭✭robbiezero

what are conditions like in salthilll anyone?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,763 ✭✭✭spurshero

Salthill miserable enough . Dull with spots of rain . Not overly cold

    Wexford (2/1) v Waterford
    Kilkenny (6/5) v cork
    Clare (7/4) v Tipp

All worthy of consideration given pre-season form. Can't read a lot into the pre-season comps overall but they are a good indicator of likely form for the last weekend in Jan. Clare and wexford especially appeal as Waterford and tipp opted out of pre-season while their opponents have looked decent.

All odds against, doing the singles and a few combos

Tipp 1/2 v Waterford is buying money.

Clare 13/8 v KK worth a pop too.

Blow my own trumpet time. Have made 7 recommendations in the hurling league so far this year. 6 of the 7 have come in, all bar one at odds against. Profitable start to the league.
