wow. wish my ex was like some of you guys.

tbh i dont think i can trust a man again after my ex. and its made me a bad person. found myself cheating on my last two *short-term* partners. i think when you've been treated bad by the person you're in love with, the next few relationships aren't going to work until you can get passed bad expierences. well in my case anyway.

    cheating isn't nice.

    Ha, that's marvellous logic.

To be fair to the OP, she's not alone in her insecurity, I have plenty of friends who regularly spout this nonsense. From experience, the cheaters I've known have been a rough split 50/50 male to female.

Actually begs the question, are we too obsessed with monogamy??

I've never cheated and certain I never will. My current girlfriend was cheated on by her first love and I know it took her a few years to fully move on, knowing how much he hurt her I could never do such a disgusting thing, cheaters and the worst kind of scum on the planet

I'm a bit annoyed with such a stupid thread and it's a pity so many are happy to make sweeping generalisations which is the most annoying thing ever. Yes, it's because many women have been hurt by cheaters but I'm sure the % of women that cheat is close to even

I honestly believe that if a man or a women is genuinely in love with their partner their pretty much certain not to cheat as they realise they have something special...sadly theirs so many pathetic pieces of crap of both sexes out their that don't have the backbone to break up with a partner they don't love and remain open to temptation!

No, it reinforced the fact that I don't want to be an utter **** of a person and cheat on somebody. /bitter (:

If I was single, I'd be on her faster than Marlon Brando reaching for the butter in the fridge.
But I'm with someone who loves me, considers me special so I would respectfully decline immediately.
    Sorry to be boring. :)

Most studies I've seen don't put men's infidelity rates that much higher than women's, if at all higher. Most put them around 50% for each gender.

Havent read the thread but meh.
Who invented monogomy? Was it around during the cavemen times? Or was it more like the animal kingdom back then, where a bullock could have a whole field full of cows to himself?
When did the idea of having one mate for life come into human existence? Was it after the time of jesus when christianity was introduced and the idea of marriage appealed to the female of the species, so it was adopted as standard practice?

When we were little single celled organisms i doubt sticking with one other single cell lump of goo was the done thing, in fact, the natural thing would be to crawl all over everyone and doo the doo with all different types of goo, not just the one!

Fast forward millions of years when im pretty sure it must have been a woman who convinced a bloke to stick with her. Womens make-up seems more suited to the one "provider", where as men are "naturally designed" to go forth and multiply with anyone and everyone they can!

Monogomy is a human created thing, like shaking someones hand, weating clothes, or living in a house! Just coz the majority of humans do them things, doesnt mean they're natural. They're just done coz its how people act. In fact, those things arent even normal for some people on this planet!

On top of that, if a bloke cheats, a lot of men might say fair play, whereas all women would be appalled. Its easy to tell from that where the original idea of monogomy came from!

In saying that, I wouldnt do it! Women have sharp nails and testicular skin can be very brittle! :(

It's not human, other animals can be monogamous.

I'm all for promiscuity, but if you're in a committed relationship, you're in a committed relationship. I've never cheated and never intend to.

Other animals can have lotsa little animal critters chasing after it as well! But theres none of this "human stigma" we get here in the west.

if a penguin cheats on his missus, what happens? I'm no penguinologist but i reckon the other penguin just gets on with it. no friends of the "victim" penguin givin the "cheatin bastard" penguin evil looks and scratching the paint on the auld Nissan Penguino! No trauma from the baby penguins seeing their parents separated. All in all, it wouldnt be a big deal at all!

Also, men and women react totally differently to getting cheated on, with parallels to the way they each think of sex in general.

    Wrong.

No, all men do not cheat, the same as all women do not cheat. :)

no, i think when your in the right relationship, you can talk about ANYTHING together, you can ogle people together and if you dont have to hide anything and can be completely honest with each other then I think theres no need for cheating in a relationship.

all men don't cheat...but we all lie, so the results of your poll maybe be wrong and your bum doesn't look big in those jeans.

What a fúcking hypocrite. The fact you know how much it hurts yet happily do it yourself makes you tens times worse than your ex tbh.

Ah don't be at it... its an anon poll, what have a few guys got to lose by answering honestly? A mix of male and female voters in there I'd say.

Would all men cheat (if it was 100% no chance no-one would find out and/or there would be no negative ramifications)? Yes

I think it's very sexist to assume that all men cheat. There's a lot of bullox stereotypes like that. For example I'm a woman and I only own one pair of shoes, only go shoe shopping 1-2 times a year when they're worn out. I'm not much amused by chick flicks, I could give a damn for makeup (ok, except lipgloss) I don't like talking on the phone and I love to play outside. However, I am a woman, I dress like one and am glad to be one. So, I'm a fine example of just how stupid these statements really are.
