    Ok sorry.

    Batman 3 ??? More like Batman 6 or 7 no ?

In reboot terms, it's Batman 3. :) This is Christopher Nolan's third Batman film which is in a completely different continuity to the Burton/Schumacher films.

Meh. Same studio. The Star Trek movies all had different directors - we don't refer to them each as reboots.

But not all of them restarted the narrative. Only the last one. Kinda.

But in regards to Star Trek, they are all though pretty much within the same continuity, there is always something that connects them. There is nothing that connects the Nolan universe and the Burton/Schumacher universe.

So they are prequels then ???

George Lucas has a lot to answer for is all I'm saying...

They're not prequels either. They have no connection to the Burton/Schimacher films other than character rights. It's a reboot.

Batman - Batman Returns - Batman Forever - Batman & Robin

Batman Begins - The Dark Knight - The Dark Knight Rises

2 different batman continuities. So the next film is the third film in the current continuity. The first (Burton/Schumacher) continuity is over and has no impact on anything which happens in Christopher Nolans batman films or whatever comes after that

It's like saying what relation does Burtons Batman have to Adam Wests 60s movie

    *Shark Repellent ftw*

Turning off my computer and restarting it - is a reboot.
Deciding this is the 3rd Batman film when actually it is the 6th or 7th or something is simply marketing

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,419 ✭✭✭allanb49

True it's the 8th Batman movie but in terms of continuity and what not it's the 3rd in this Story Arc.

This ridiculous, its clearly the 3rd movie. If your going to be pedantic like your being then its actually the 8th if you count the batman made in the 70's with Adam West.

What would you call war of the world with Tom Cruise? Is that now War of the Worlds 2.

It will actually ruin the tone of the movie if that ironing board with a face is cast in it. She won't though, as Nolan's film usually consist of people with talent beyond pouting.
I don't know - Katie Holmes managed to get through Batman Begins by just shaking her head a lot.

I'm inclined to pay little head to these kinds of rumours because they're just too easy to manufacture and so gossip sites and papers have a strong incentive to do just that.

True, I hated her so much in it. What a sour face she kept up and just made Rachel out as an annoying, opinionated bitch.

At least Maggie Gyllenhaal made the character likeable again in The Dark Knight.

Upon repeated viewings, I actually preferred Holmes to Gyllenhaal. :o

I wouldn't agree with that entirely. Seventh Batman feature film - Yes (maybe eighth if you count the 60's film). Third Batman film from a different perpective - also yes. Then use the marketing speak of reboot etc. etc.

It will be the 11th Batman feature film there has been Batman, Batman and Robin, Batman, Batman, Mask of The Phantasm, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

The way she talks out of one side of her mouth while the other side seems paralysed bugs the poop out of me. My pal pointed it out years ago and can't help but notice everytime now.

I read the original ending the other day for The Dark Knight.

Seemed batman would start to realise why he liked wearing rubber so much. Thus setting up the sequel "Batman: Whats in Riddlers pants" (2012)

Maybe include Under The Red Hood while we are at it... :P

Seriously though it is film 3 of this continuity. It is really not hard to understand.

I'm competely lost as to how this is an argument. I just jumped in at the last page... I don't think I'm going to go looking at the last couple.

Under the Red Hood is really great though. I'd recommend it to any fan of Batman.

If you're referring to the book(s) I haven't read them yet but recent animated movie was class.

I can understand what the poster means by saying its Batman 7, Casino Royle is the 21st Bond film and classed/advertised with that lovely 00's term a reboot having no connection with previous Bond films and Godzilla Final Wars is the 26th Godzilla film but has no connection with any previous Godzilla films. So The Dark Knight Rises could be classed as Batman 7 but really its all apples and oranges as far as I'm concerned.

Under the Red Hood is straight to DVD not a film.

  • Registered Users Posts: 231 ✭✭KevArno

Straight to DVD or not, it is a Batman feature film.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,618 ✭✭✭Mr Freeze

Don't forget, Batman: Sub Zero, Batman Of The Future: Return Of The Joker....

Lads its the 3rd in this continuity, End Of!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,903 ✭✭✭McLoughlin

Sorry I meant to say Under the Red Hood is straight to DVD not a theatrical film.

Hang on. I re-read that again. You've got Batman listed three times and Batman and Robin listed twice  I'm confused now. Is it:

    Batman (1966)
    Batman and Robin
    Batman (1989)
Just trying to be clear about this but shouldn't the fourth one read Batman: Mask of The Phantasm (?)
Then the rest are fine except mentioning Batman and Robin again, unless there are two different films of this?
It's all getting rather out of hand :P
