You love being part of a team, you understand that while you've heard the same question 100 times it's the customers first time telling you so empatise and i guess mention something about the latest smart phones like iphone 6 for example. maybe mention you heard EE was the best network in the UK or some stuff they'll love that. Best of luck :)

After doing the same course myself three years ago(Ill give yea the answers to the exams at a cost :p ) I can tell you the only place where such a job exists is Sunlife, unfortunately they prefer to take on internally before advertising externally.

Your best bet is to look at all the finance companies in the Dublin region, begin as a contractor, get the experience and then settle down.

Not the news you want to hear I know, but its what I and many other ppl have had to do.

You don't want a job, you ant a career. That's how to get it.

Cheers how did you get on with the course did many from it get into employment?

It's now mandatory with the course to do a 3 month work placement. The only problem with this is it seems it's unpaid so moving away doesn't seem possible.

I presume the work placement officer will have more details on local companies. But beyond Sun Life i can't seem to find anywhere else, hopefully there is a few small companies who would take me in.

From talking to at least 85% of the class, they have all got work in Ireland.

You'd be surprised when it comes to work experience, I know a few ppl who done theirs in Microsoft and Google and were unemployed at the time. College will advise your options.

What you mean unskilled for Hasbro?

Go in there and hand a cv in at reception. Be quick about it as spaces are getting filled fast.

Hasbro IS unskilled. Put plastic item/mat/toy etc in box. Repeat as above for 8 hours. Push box and pallet, repeat for 8 hours. Fill the dispatch containers with product. Not rocket science.

I have been following this thread for a while and you seem to have some major attitude problem. How is Iceland any more of a skilled job than Hasbro, both are about the same no? The bit you said above about applying for other unskilled jobs bit I have bolded there reeks of having a bad attitude, you apply for those jobs same as any other hand in a cover letter and C.V.

Maybe he just meant unskilled as in not a specialist position, a general operative like?

No point in applying for a position you are not qualified for? Or maybe he is looking down on them I dunno

I thought he made it sound as if he was looking down on them, but I could be wrong. Iceland isn't exactly skilled work either.

Thats what makes me think he probably didnt mean it to sound like he was looking down on factory work

Are you implying you need a qualification to work in Iceland? Also if you aren't getting interviews what can really help is writing a good cover letter.
