Whats it like, lots of panic over on the codemasters forum that its too twitchy and stuff?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,661 ✭✭✭✭Helix

Its bang on after a bit of getting used to. Tho im not playing on the top difficulty or anything. Im not a huge petrol head so never been hardcore, but the options are totally tweakable to suit ability and the realism level you want

Cant specifically remember, but you can tune the over/understeer which I presume has the same end result

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,288 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

    Anywhere selling this today? Gamestop?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,334 ✭✭✭Sean Quagmire

Not til tomorrow, but take my advice if you want it tomorrow pre order it. For some reason the number of copies that retailers will have is very low. I pre paid for mine in HMV last night and I said jokingly 'can i have mine now' and she told me they 'only have 30 copies upstairs and thats that'. I could only pre book it if i paid in full too!

similar response from gamestop, they expect it to be a complete sell out.

The more the merrier mate, if the simracing forum doesnt pick up its a dead horse im afraid so anything that can improve the traffic over there is a plus for boards.

I've just seen that there's a trophy called 'Taking It Online'. To get it you must win your first ranked race online! WTF?!

:confused: Why WTF? Seems like a perfectly normal trophy

But whats happens if you don't get it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 604 ✭✭✭DemoniK

    don't get what...

It's just a trophy when you win your first race...
It doesn't mean that you must win your first EVER online race.

  • Registered Users Posts: 355 ✭✭theShawzer

:o I feel so stupid right now. How did I get that so mixed up?
Thank you for shedding light on the situation. I'm going to crawl into a hole now.
Just for the record the game is amazing!

  • Registered Users Posts: 604 ✭✭✭DemoniK

    game is good..
    Finding it tough though...
Hard to put in a qualifying lap - you can't make any mistakes going round bends etc, or invalidates lap...
Gonna keep trying though as it's great otherwise

Fairly standard type of trophy, finish first in an online ranked race.

The worst I had to do was for Resistance....10,000 kills...

Are you playing it on expert? I am except im using an automatic gearbox. It's tricky getting used to no traction control too!

I took it all weong and thought I had to win my FIRST EVER race. Thankfully thought that is not the case!

  • Registered Users Posts: 604 ✭✭✭DemoniK

no, am using traction control - everything else turned off though.
I use wheel with paddle shift gears. Tried the DS3 as well, but just constantly seem to put the wheels over the kerbs on 1 or 2 corners and invalidate the lap...
    More practise I think :(

I kinda thought that that was what you thought...:D

But that would be a totally ridiculous trophy, win "FIRST EVER". Would be totally unfair.

Thoughy I'd be the big man and play on expert first time out and turn off all driver aids, man was that mistake. Traction control is a must. At least now I can keep on the back of Timo Glocks gearbox. That might not sound great but it's better that being lapped by Karun Chandhok
