I applied 7days ago. They rang me today while I was at work but emailed me asking to confirm if I would be available for telephone interview in the morning. I emailed the following:

Hey orla.....the interview was fairly easy and the interviewer guy was soooooo nice so don't worry about it. They asked about the Sabis teaching methood ...and do u agree with this method....so basically talk about the points system and the student life organisation skills...its all on this website: http://www.sabis.net/educational-services/approach/teaching-methods.aspx. they asked me why do you think you'd make a good teacher and how you would deal with an obstructive child and how you would discipline the children. They asked why do you want to move to the middle east and would you be able to adapt to the cultural differences. They asked me why i picked my college course.....its all stuff u can bull**** as u go along really ....good luck ...ul be grand...:P

Hi Guys,
Quick question, so I registered on Sabis careers. And I applied for an 'English language teacher' role on their vacancies section. Is it just a waiting game now or what's the next step?
Also I didn't see anywhere to do up a video cv is that a later step?

Your best bet is to email careersgulf@sabis.net, stating who you are, what degree you have etc. Attach your C.V. The only response I received was from this email address. Interview was supposed to be at 8am but they postponed it until tomorrow instead :-)

It's a waiting game for them to email you back!!

Thanks Orla, I had emailed sabiscareers but just got a generic response back about all vacancies being on their website. Best of luck with the interview!

Oh I see, I didn't get that email. I didn't get a response until yesterday and at that they scheduled my interview straight away! The lady on the phone this morning told me that because I didn't answer the phone yesterday(I was at work) they scheduled somebody else for my time. There a definitely still vacancies because they are still interviewing. Hold tight :-) and if they contact you get back to them ASAP :-)

jesus they're fair scattered....how annoying! I signed my contract yesterday and all I got back was ''Thank you for signing the contract.... keep posted'' whatever that's supposed to mean hah! I hope I actually have the job now like....u'd think they'd be asking me for details and stuff at this stage

You know when you had your telephone interview, how long did it take for them to get back to you with the job offer? And did they ask you where you would like to be placed?

i had the phone interview at 10...and they emailed me at around 4 offering me my job...so it was a very fast process...yup they asked me alright...course i said dubai or abu dhabi and the give me SHARJAH....pffft...suppose its near dubai tho....so will drown my sorrows there at the wkends

Wow! That was fast alright! My interview is now on Sunday morning....I really hope they offer me something after all this rescheduling!!! Who interviewed you? When the lady rang me this morning she said 'he will interview you on Sunday morning' so it's going to be a guy, hope it's the same guy you had!

i think it was a guy called linu pappachan ...cause he emailed me straight away after...but im not 100% sure.....ya thats not on at all...they're all over the shop!!!

Im just waiting for my phone interview at the moment... was scheduled for 10.30 and still no call.. heres hoping it goes well! i think its for sharjah as well.. whats life like there does anybody know??

Karen ..... i havn't seen many great reviews on sharjah at all hahaha....but everyone says it's very near Dubai....so we'd be socialising there all the time....thers no alcohol allowed there and they're stricter about what you wear....but shur we'd have a ball in Dubai anyway
