But my landlady won't let us keep pets. :(
Although one of the neighbours' cats jumps at the handle of our back door trying to get in; if it ever makes it in I'm not gonna hunt it out because frankly it has won and deserves to be there.

Day was scorching today.. for an Irish person anyway, and there was a rake of fit lads fresh out from college in their shorts and some even shirtless. Was class :D

Well today I am heading up to the big Shmoke that is Dub-land, before heading off to Gran Canaria with 3 of the lads. 10 days of utter bliss! Cannot wait!

Well it is my first sun holiday, so it could be pouring rain and I am still bound to come out of it looking a lovely shade of lobster! But looking at the forecast, it only seems to be 3 degrees or so hotter than we have been having here lately, during the day that is. At night it is a nice 19 degrees over there. Happy days. All thats left now is for me to pray that the forecast for rain over there turns out to be all lies!

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Try dating an actual Latino.

Ha, I'm good with my psuedo-Latino at the moment!

The burn has gone down a good bit, and I'm a bit more brown now. So it's all good!

And for anyone who misses football, the Confederations Cup started today and the UEFA U-21 Tournament has been on too. If you look hard enough, you will find something to satisfy your need for a football fix! :D

Yes, nothing like watching the mighty titans of the Pacific, Tahiti, to satisfy your football cravings!

I love how all the focus today is on their one goal, and not the 6 Nigeria got!

RIP to James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano from The Sopranos).

Wonderfully talented actor who was such an incredible presence in everything he did. Only 51 too. Tragically young. :(

I didn't even go out for pride, I'm such a bad gay. :pac: Kind of kicking myself over it now! In my defence I was out the night before and slept at like 5am...so the idea of getting into town for 12pm was pretty horrifying. :P

Do! :) I think Dublin's one is the first in Ireland every year, maybe you could go to one of the other ones? I had been looking forward to this one because the first time I went was 2010 but only to the afterparty at wood quay - spent the day on the zombie walk :pac: Then in 2011 it wasn't too fun because of grumpy friends and in 2012 I was away, so gonna try my best to go next year!

So you've been out for years then? Jesus I think it's only now I could bring myself to even considering the option of going, though it's not really my thing, and I've been out since 2011.

Depends how you look at it I suppose! Not everyone knows, I haven't told my dad. It's not that I think he'd react badly or anything, and we're close enough, but I don't think I'd tell him about having a girlfriend either. :p I wouldn't be as "out" as some people who would've come out more recently (perhaps like you), but I did come out first in 2009, when I was 14. Pretty much all of my friends at the time were gay though, so it made it very easy to do so. :pac: Never told people in school because it wasn't their business and they'd bullied a friend who did come out, but I wouldn't care if they knew now of course.

I don't think it has to be anyone's thing, I've always found it's what you make of it, it's just a fun day out with a lovely atmosphere. :)

Wow, since you were four-fucking-teen?! :p It must've been a lot easier and supportive to come out knowing the majority of them were gay too. Kind of wish I'd such a transition that way, as in, it was such an easy environment to come out in. Would've probably done away with a lot of the negative thinking I did about being gay at the time and probably would've come to terms with things a lot faster, and younger.

I wouldn't have come out at school either, I admitted it to myself a month or two after the LC when I wasn't long turned 17, but only drunkly broke down and admitted it on New Year's Eve to friends. But I'm not so 'out' as you might think, though. Like, my parents don't know, some of my family do, and mates, and I'm openly gay to anyone I meet because I've nothing to hide, but that'd be it. Well, maybe there's not much else to it after that anyway :P

But eh, why the feck am I going on about this stuff?

Yeah, pride, well I used to hate the thoughts of it but now I really don't have any distain for it. I ignore the really flamboyant parts of it and just remember there's a heap of more ordinary lads there and it's not so bad. Doubt I'd ever go, but I suppose never say never.. if I was drunk and drugged ofc. :pac:

Yup, pretty early but at the time I felt like I was late! :p It was, but it was still really, really scary, but I suppose that's a given. In a weird way I think I still don't feel totally comfortable with the idea, at least not as much as other people who came out later and got it all overwith in one go might feel.

Whoa, all through school you never told anyone? That must've been tough. Sounds like we're pretty much out to the same level of people though. I wouldn't deny it, really, if people I know from years ago were to ask me...but I'd be a bit sheepish about admitting it I think, dunno why. :pac:

Sure it's the OT thread, what else would we talk about? :p

Yeah I find the whole flamboyancy a bit off-putting. I suppose I see it more seriously than some people might. It's a great fun day out for anyone who goes, but going around with your arse hanging out is just what the homophobes need to vilify it. I treated it as no more than a festival of sorts, the stumbling drunks everywhere make it funnier. :D
