Ann Doyle looks like she's laughing at Gormley squirming and not giving straight answers.

How in the name of Je$us did O'Dea become a barrister AND an accountant? Were they giving out free licences like the drivings licences a few years ago or something? I wouldn't give that idiot a loan of a flat screwdriver never mind a government ministry!!!

    Willie O' Dea.
    He did.

An eventful month so far...first, George and Fine Gael, then De Burca and the Greens, now O'Dea and FF...OK, now Labour's turn!

When evidence is easily available you should check it. If you don't you will make needlessly bad decisions. Anyone who makes serious decisions without checking easily found evidence should not be in a position to make decisions that effect the security of a nation.

Even if you believe every word Willie O'Dea said he should not be a minister. Anyone who would say something on tape and then swears an oath on what they said, but not check the tape back is incompetent.

    This is a non-story.

FF still have the majority because the Greens will do anything to stay in power.

O'Dea will serve a brief sentence and will be rehabilitated in due course.

RTE getting the horn about a non-story.

Brian Cowen 1 Green Party 0

Having forced his old pal willie to resign, Cowen has prevented the greens from climbing back onto the high moral ground.

Note to the green party: you can still withdraw your support from fianna fail.

Will Lenihan be the new M.o.D ?

i doubt that very much - the RTE propoganda machine is in full swing reporting that the people of Limerick are 'deeply disappointed' by O' Dea's resignation. easy know who their paymaster's are.

Technically he was already in, poor willie couldn't make a decision without having to pass it by him anyway.

    One down.......

well we're still a long way short of the standard I want from my public representatives.

he did great work for limerick? limerick the biggest crime slum outside of naples...

    limerick...when cousins marry cousins:cool:

And so the competition for most pathetic post of the day has been closed.

If you said this about a country or an ethnic group you'd be - rightly - accused of being racist.

Have you ever actually BEEN to Limerick ?

And have you read newspapers about ACTUAL crime capitals and crime slum ?

Mods : can we impose an IQ test requirement for posting in Politics ?

I'm watching that bull, and I'm fuming!

Whatever about a few mixed views on the vox-pop, Jim Fahy really made it seem like Limerick supports O'Dea.

Yes, Limerick will crib about not having a minister, but in all fairness we need someone who does some good and is above reproach.

Far from a non story, it's had pressure on FF for the past two days to the point one of their best known minister has had to resign.

Now the questions point to the Greens, why oh why did they do a dumb thing like vote yesterday instead of going AWOL....

It's all good for people who want to see an election. He may well be back at some time in the future, right now I want them all out. Gotta start somewhere and Willie O'Dea is as good a place as any.
