Not feeling great today. Got barely any sleep last night and any sleep I did get didn't even really feel like sleep - dreamless, and I didn't feel at all rested. Still, I've stayed in bed all morning, didn't even get up to say good morning to my housemates or go to college. Just feeling very, very blue and don't want to interact with anyone. Haven't felt this bad in quite a while. :(

Things have been getting bad, and I hadn't even noticed.

I thought it was because I was sick (as in physically, Migraine has been a complete bitch lately) but I have to face the facts. Depression has been doing its innocuos, sneaky thing again. 1pm yesterday I looked around and noticed the curtains were still drawn, I was still in my dressing gown, unwashed, hair unbrushed. The place is a tip. Hadn't been outside for days and no desire to either. No headache so no excuse.

    It's back.

Kick in the arse time. Dishwasher and washing machine loaded and on the go. Shower, do hair and make-up and get out of here and get some things done.

Weird thing is, I don't feel down, just meh. That's how it starts though. Does this mean my meds are no longer working?

Anyway, will push on. Hope everyone is doing ok.

    Sardy x

I think we - I - get lazy. Everything is ticking along so I don't pay as much attention to the things I should. Don't go to bed on time one night, skip a meal or two another day, did I/did I not take my meds that day???

And before you know it, its one of THOSE days.

Fair play to you for noticing and doing something about it

This is me a few days of the week! Today I'm down and I suppose its because I haven't eaten in a while, I didn't have a good bed routine last night and didn't sleep well, I barely got out of bed yesterday, and you reminded me I forgot to take my tablet the last 2 days :p

Its like I know all the things I should do to keep me up, eat well and exercise and have a good routine, but I often forget or can't find the motivation.

I will get out of bed momentarily and shower and tidy up the room and start my day :)

If it wasn't for my phone alarm, I'd never take my meds!
Weekends are pretty bad - usually don't leave the apt at all if I can help it.Bed til all hours. I shower each day, but just wear my tracksuit pants. Change my bed sheets if I can cos I feel more comfy.

Monday to Friday however I am the picture of high functioning:). I think by the time Friday comes, I'm exhausted from all that work!

Yesterday I did up a schedule for myself. Put in my work hours, my class hours, times I meet with clubs, and I filled in the times my gym has classes that I am free to attend. So hopefully that will allow me to get a better routine, and fit in some badly needed exercise and study! I tend to do nothing a lot of the time when I just leave my day up to me to allocate times, so I think the timetable might help if I can stick to it.

And I just need to remind myself to shut off the damn laptop at a reasonable hour. Up late last night watching silly things on Youtube for hours. Reading or listening to an audio book while I knit has been helping me fall asleep a lot better lately.

And about the pills, to emphasise how lazy I am! I also have a phone alarm, but often if my pills are not within arms reach, I won't bother taking them at that time :pac:

I wish I'd found this thread ages ago...

I've been dealing with anxiety for a long time by myself, and I'm sick of feeling the way I do day in day out. I've decided to seek professional help.

Did you guys go to your doctor first, or seek out a counsellor? I'm not sure where to start! My family know I'm a "little OCD" and can get down and not want to talk about things, but I've never discussed what goes on in my head with anyone.

Doctor first, he can advise you on what is best for you.

    Good luck xx

Taking Kalms to get me to sleep. They seem to be helping.

Feeling really disappointed or deflated or something. I naively thought that starting college would be the time I'd come out of my shell and start being a normal human being for once. Fat chance. I've built college up to be this amazing, life-changing thing that it really isn't.

Everyone else seems to be able to say things without any problems but when I do I get looked at like I've ten heads. Maybe it's just in my mind although I really don't think it is. Stupid mind.

Appointment with the counselor is taking ages to arrange. Not that I'm too bothered as I don't think it'll even work for me. Psychiatrists are too expensive and I'd feel like a charity-case going to pieta house or somewhere like it. I dunno.

Go to your GP first and explain whats going on. I find it helpful to write things down before going in case I forget something important that I want to tell them

Don't worry, Princess, tomorrow is another day and it comes in very quickly. I really wish the night was a lot longer, cause its my favourite time(the other half thinks thinks I'm funny), but it flies. Ah well, goodnight and sweet dreams.:)

There should be a general doctor there (GP) and nurses too as well as the counsellors.

Can't imagine too many colleges have psychiatrists?

For example a college wouldn't have a vascular surgeon or heart surgeon as all these are specialists.

Have you been to a GP? They can advise on medication, most people visit them first before being referred to a psychiatrist.

Went to the crisis counselor this morning, feeling a little better now. Might think about going back to counseling on a continuous basis, AGAIN!

I always feel better for a while after couselling, just never seem to be able to sort out everything :/

Ask in the health centre, its not always advertised. I didn't know my college had one until I got the referral.

Know that feeling peach. I feel counselling helps for a while but not with new issues that arise.

I've been considering the crisis appt option at the min. I'm very, very low. But I don't want to take it from someone else who might need it more than me :(

My college always have a counsellor free for walk in appointments if you want to be seen right away, works on a first come first serve basis, but I was the only one there this morning so didn't have to wait long, or keep anyone else waiting which was great!
