We did "Dulce et decorum est" by Wilfred Owen. Is that the same poem you did padocon?

Meaning-"it is sweet and proper" and part of a LATIN quote from a poem by horace sometime in ancient greece. Full quote is "Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori" or something like and can be found in the last two lines of poem, meaning "It is sweet and proper to die for the fatherland(your country)"

We did one poem in Irish (Teilifis) and one story/prose/whatever it is (An Punk). We have one essay learned off (Timpiste) and some people don't even know that. Seem to be okay on grammar but...
We're screwed as a class, aren't we? Mocks at the end of this month, they start right after midterm.

oh they're just basically lists of stuff about each song like name, category, type, form, musical features, tempo, mood etc, etc.

How'd you all get on today?

I hope everybody is doing and will do well in your Mocks! Don't worry if you feel you haven't done well or got a bad mark-it's the Junior Cert that counts, and from my experience, Mock papers are generally(and probably deliberately) harder than the actual Junior Cert!

    Good Luck Everybody!:)

So, who has exams tomorrow? I have Business 1 and CSPE.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 777 ✭✭✭Mayoegian

    Thank you, MaighEoGoDeo. :)

You're welcome Wandering Soul! I had a huge long post made out the last day about timings etc. in the exam and plenty of advice, but I deleted it by accident!:o Oh well, I'll try to do another one soon again!:D

You have a nice exam tomorrow anyway-CSPE-which is the best! Do you know some of the Party Leaders faces e.g. Enda Kenny, Brian Cowen?:)

Once you know these, and a few key words such as Discrimination and Parole(came up last year), etc. for the fill in the blanks you'll be grand! The rest is just giving your opinion!:) As for Business, once you know the Layouts for the accounts-you're doing mighty! Practise the Short Questions in your exam papers because believe me, they get repeated! The IT terms, or some Business Organizations usually come up in Section A, i.e. what does ICTU stand for? etc.!

You'll be grand! What exams did you have today?

Thank you for the advice. It's a pain when you lose a post, isn't it?! I've picked up the habit of copying my posts while I'm writing them or before I click submit, so that if something goes wrong I can just paste it in again.

For CSPE I'm actually in the middle of making up a sheet with the cabinet and "key political leaders" with pictures and info, as well as looking at a sheet our teacher gave us with the faces of people like Ban Ki Moon and Nicolas Sarkozy.
I'm also typing up a summary of the seven key concepts.

For Business, I think I'll be fine. I've looked over all the accounts and past short questions so I should be ok. I'm about to have a glance over some theory. :)

I'm lucky; I had no exams today as the exams that were on were Music and Technology and I do neither. I had Maths 1 and French on Monday though.

Thanks for the tip about copying the posts!;)

I'm predicting Barack Obama will come up in the CSPE! Maths 1 can be quite difficult-imo, I think it's the hardest paper, because in Paper 2 you have formulae so it's not too bad! I hope they both went well for ya!

    Good Luck tomorrow!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,419 ✭✭✭WanderingSoul

Thanks, I also think Obama will come up. Maths 1 didn't go too badly; I wasn't sure on a couple of questions but I put an answer down for everything. French was a joke, to be honest. We were all finished over an hour early!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,218 ✭✭✭padocon

Has anyone had music yet? I thought it was simple!
    Heres what came up:
    Got ya!

Even though I cant see in the rules where it says its not aloud.

Oh I know! Sure in the Home Ec. mock last year, I was finished after about 40 mins, and I wasn't allowed leave!

Maths 1 always has tricky questions in it, in the real JC they're nicer though! However, even if you attempt the question(provided the attempts are relevant) you get some marks! If you have any questions at all, just ask on here! You sound like you have your study done and are well prepared though!:)

What other mocks for you are coming up?

I'll go get my journal and I'll let you know :)

    HAHA!!! Nice one!:D

It mightn't say it in the rules-but you really shouldn't cheat! Some of the LCers are doing it now over on 'the other side,' but don't follow suit. The Mocks are a facility to help you, so embrace that. Don't take the easy route out!:)

It actually does say it in the rules, I'll go and get a quote now in a second.
