out of curiosity i logged in via web at 4, typical when i didn't need them got lucky 42 in queue. Got 4 together at 108.
let them expiry at final checkout so so someone got lucky.
Got to say it annoys me that the Gaa sell the worse tickets first.

I disagree. If the better tickets are kept back for the clubs I think it's way better.
There a plenty of people that regularly go to games that are not members of a club. I think those folks, and folks that purchase their tickets well in advance, deserve a chance to get access to at least some of the the better tickets that are held for clubs.

Agree completely. I've attended every championship match this year (with the exception of the Tipp match as I was away) not to mention some of the league matches. Almost all my tickets were purchased online, with iirc,a few local clubs actively pushing people to buy them this way as they didn't want the hassle.
If we are lucky enough to win Sunday, you'll have the usual suspects who are "club members" come out of the woodwork and actively pursue (and most likely get) a ticket or two for the final. I fully acknowledge that the members are probably providing great work and support for their clubs and that is to be applauded. But where were they for the Clare team when support was required? Why was pairc UI chaoimh more than half empty for a quarter final? I didn't like the venue for that match but we still travelled.....
My solution to this has always been something aligned to attendance record ie retention of ticket stubs or something similar. I'm not sure if a system could be formatted to do this but I just think it would reward those who do their best to spend big sums of their money following and supporting the county team. I do realise there exists a season ticket and that is fine too to a point. What do the rest of you think?

If you are following a team through the league and other championship matches and want a guaranteed ticket for every match including the final, then go and buy a season ticket. It is a no brainer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a season ticket €120? That would be €240 for my wife and I. A lot of dosh for the privilege of being able purchase a ticket. On top of the 50 a head for our club membership.

What ever you think yourself.. You can't have it both ways, complaining about not being able to get a ticket and then when there is a system available complain about it as well. I swore after last years all Ireland, I d get one, just to ensure I have one for the all Ireland but I found it to be decent value as well.

All hurling league matches free, first round matches free and 5e off each ticket for each championship game.
Each league match is 10 to 15e in division one, I've gone to 6 championship matches as well. So that's 30e I've saved and then the league matches 6 off those us 90e and then a free ticket for the club all Ireland included as well.

I got decent seats for all games bar one.

Granted they are expensive but worth it when it comes to the all Ireland final, I'm guaranteed a ticket and hopefully a decent one.

There is also a club option as well whereby you can get access to every club game in a given county for an extra 80e.

Look, I'll get the value from it because I go to a lot of matches regardless but its a great way to get the all Ireland tickets.

Fair enough. It's not a bad deal at all when you explain it like that. Might look at it for next season .

You're already spending far more than this buying them individually unless you are telling porkies

Had it this year for the first time, and though I didn't make all Waterfords games even if I had think would have saved about a 5r in total.

They are only really value if the county progresses late into the season at this stage. Got to 4 league games and three championship games, and we were screwed over in Waterford with the free game being down in Ennis where we were not even given stand tickets.

No it's fairly cheap actually. It's in no way expensive

Terrace tickets for both ends are still on sale as of lunchtime Thursday 02/08, looks now like this might not sell out, for fans trying to better the tickets they picked up in Monday's scramble, can any spares they have be sold back on the day in Thurles?

They won't unfortunately. I'd say there's going to be a good few spare terrace tickets around.

Parking based on the main routes & respective counties for Sunday, hope this helps.

I put it in our thread so said I'd throw it in here too.

The longer the week is going on the more of an absolute fcuking shambles Monday’s online only sale is proving to be. For an organization used to regularly staging large-scale matches it is just not good enough.

Yea. Croke Park rightly shafted their members with their carry on this week and have caused a lot of people and clubs to be seriously out of pocket. At 1pm Monday, with no stand tickets available online and most clubs under the impression that they could not access any tickets for their members, they rightly bought terrace tickets in order to at least have something for the match. Now a lot of those terrace tickets won't be used.

It's getting harder and harder to defend the suits in Croke Park and their decision making.

at least the GAA are staying consistent with one thing, being a total fcuking shambles, over the last month or two especially.

if it wasn't for the likes of the performances being put on by those 4 teams last weekend perhaps taking a bit of the attention off the absolute farce that has been that organisation of late, we'd all be following the cricket.

Clare aren't naming their team until just before throw in on Sunday. Galway have named an unnamed team.

Both teams will have had to submit a squad of 26 by Thursday evening. They don't have to announce the 26 until some time before throw in. I expect Clare will name the same 26, with same numbers but I expect that there'll be 1 change, and maybe more if there are injuries we are not aware of.

For Galway, if McInerney is injured then I'm surprised they named him as he cannot now be replaced. It's not that no. 27 would be getting a game but that it gives someone on the fringes a place on the 26. By naming the same 26 Galway are not giving anything -similiar to Clare.

It'll be the same 26 on both sides, the likes of McInerney will be given every chance to be fit, even for use as a sub.

I'd imagine both county boards would be willing to take a fine for a last minute change to the squad.

Its a strange move nonetheless naming McInerney in their squad if he has an outside chance of being fit. If its a torn calf he has no business being on a field this year. If its just strained, he will still be seriously hampered running. It seems they are just going with the 25 fit guys in order to hold some sort of discreet advantage. They sound a little rattled to me.
