The Haitians need personality tests to know they're depressed

I heard he was just scouting locations for Battlefield Earth 2.

    The fiend.

The overall results of their personality tests were good, but apparently they all fell down in one particular area.

Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident, it's not like anyone else, it's, you drive past, you know you have to do something about it.
You know you are the only one who can really help.
    That's what drives me.

The older he gets, the more he looks like a roasted turnip

Article doesn't mention anything about Scientologists btw

Tom Cruise can't be far behind him and between them Haiti will be saved.

"I have arranged for a plane to take down some volunteer ministers and some supplies and some medics," said Travolta.

It's been happening since the Wright brothers in 1903.

Oh, I didn't think anyone attempted it since Icarus

Apparently Sean Penn is over there as well.

These celebrities, with obviously no skills that could be positive to the emergency effort over there...ughhh

''Look how much I care, I'm living in a tent in Haiti...''

Just write a big cheque and get on with it.

Memo to celebs: stay at home. A cheque or direct debit will suffice.

I hate to defend a celebrity, but Travolta is quite useful: he's a qualified pilot with his own 707 that can be filled with all sorts of life saving goodies.
It's all the other gob$hites I would question.

Big time, he can call around to the other celebs private runways and fill up with much needed goods and supplies.

Stevie Wonder, Madonna, George Clooney and a few other "gob$hites" raised£35 million quid and didn't try to convert a single soul.

John Travolta, his goodies and his pilots licence my ar$e.

Whats he bringing the nutbags for ?

next you will have the Mormons dropping in !

anyway, enuff rant from me. back to work.....

he could have loaded the seats that his scilon buddies took up with food or tents.

This whole thing is a publicity exercise for Scientology. They did the same after September 11th and 7/7 lin London. They actually hampered rescue efforts at thse by trying to keep psychologists away from councelling victims.

Scientology set up a special detox program and tried to get firemen off their prescribed medicines and onto a diet of b12, Niacin and saunas.

On 9/11 in particular, they tricked Fox News into advertising their recruiting number under the name NAtional Mental Health Action, instead of the actual National Mental Health Association, who are trained councillors.

I didn't know that his bike was broken. Perhaps he'll ride to Haiti when it's fixed.

Same story - the Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1246290/John-Travolta-flies-tonnes-aid-Haiti-private-jumbo-jet.html

Pure publicity gimmick to advocate themselves as a useful org' - instead of being what they are - a cult org'.
Anyone ever hear of a charity org' before with its own military sea organisation - vessels and all???

A money grabbing cult is still a cult not matter what you try to paint it as.

theyll get there, realise everyone is poor and scarper for the 707

So long as he does not bomb anyone on the way home I suppose its not too bad but you know how much Americans and the rest of us like an explosion at the end.

When you get a sudden shock to a part of your body the energy gets stuck, so we re-establish communication within the body by touching people through their clothes, and asking people to feel the touch.
No risk of sex scandals with scientology so ;)

He's performing parachute airdrops over those most in need. Unfortunately those e-meter personality test devices are heavy little buggers and several Haitians have been killed and wounded by direct hits.

    Sean Penn is over there?

Maybe he'll decide to live there forever so I won't have to see his smug whiny no-talent face anymore

Fair play to Travolta though, except the whole scientology thing... Although I doubt the Haitians are rich enough to be of any interest to them

Sadly, one of many report's I've read with these thugs and their cult.
    phasers wrote: »

Its not about revenue initially. Its about any publicity is good publicity.
Also back home, they can try to keep up the claim that they are a charitable organisation in order to still receive tax-free status with the Internal Revenue Service in the states.
(A status that is currently being looked at seriously for review)

Beside the plane that John used (at his own cost) they have actually spent little else.
Besides donated items to the cult, its just strange manpower - healing of hands from the power of "Xenu!"
The members get little or no pay as it is anyway so the cult is seriously not losing out revenue-wise but sowing many seeds of possible gain later in a number of ways.
O' and note in the pictures (and video news clips of previous similar events - youtube, etc) that they take every opportunity to sell/advertise their "bibles" and its wacky internal rubbish.
As someone has mentioned already, they did this at 9-11 alone and it was a sickening sight to see.

If he's doing this AND donating at least $1m to charity, I don't see the problem

    What charity?
Is the actual charity mentioned or is he giving it to the cult - they call themselves a charity on events as this?

I know it's south park, but they make a valid point, haven't christian organisations been doing the "convert to our religion and we'll feed you" thing in africa for the last thirty years anyway??

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starvin'_Marvin_in_Space

clip on youtube was obviously removed, but i still remember the episode. watching it i thought - "geez, they were still collecting for concern and trocaire when I was in school, and that's only ireland's contribution!"...

Please, oh looters, pretty please..... Let's have some of that violence directed in a way that benefits all mankind. And I'm sure there's plenty good eating on Travolta if you're really desperate.

Just what you need after losing friends , family and work. Everything you knew is rubble and theres no water or shelter from the sun.

"You don't need a Psychologist, they are evil."

"No you don't have to queue up to see a doctor in a field hospital. Look I just touched you and all the evil aliens/thetans have gone back to sleep."

He flies a crappy tired old Boeing 707 so it's not a stretch of the imagination. Sure he has his spaceship in orbit if anything goes wrong.

****ing scientologists. they make me sick. if travolta went down with just medical supplies and food i would applaud him but bringing those ****ers with him with their healing touch makes me want to vomit.

I think people have me wrong, I'm saying his plane, and himself as a qualified pilot, are immeasurably useful. It costs a lot to keep anything big in the sky, and he pays for it himself, so assuming he's bringing in supplies that are needed and not just cultists, it's a good thing.
