    my next pick is

    Beth Phoenix

My next pick is 6'5" and 350 pounds of pure solid muscle packed with charisma and promo skills. Vince would give both testicles and Hunter's nose to have this guy on his roster, and possibly has offered having made attempts to sign him in the past. Starting off in America in NWA Wildside, he was also signed by WCW in it's dying days, making one tv appearance before becoming a megastar in Japan, twice being named Best Box Office Draw and once Most Charismatic by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards. The greatest laugh in pro wrestling since The Million Dollar Man, he's not just a beast, he is The Beast, Bob Sapp.

Round 9 is nearly over and Round 10 is almost upon us so we're about 2/3 of the way through the game.

As happened last year, to coincide with Round 10, the Evaluation thread will be opened which will allow for a couple of weeks of TV build-up before you do the final write-up of your main PPV card.

*Note* - Like last year the Evaluation thread will be entirely optional and the only thing that will be required is the final card which hopefully everyone will post after the last round of the game (Round 15). I hope that's straightforward enough to understand and if not don't worry as you can post any concerns in the discussion thread.

Round 10 is a regular round in the game and here is the draw...

    Round 10 Draw

    1. Spongey1975
    2. Vince135792003
    3. Jaykhunter
    4. Gerard.C
    5. glenjamin
    6. Bubs101
    7. Bounty Hunter
    8. waltersobchak
    9. Furious Red
    10. Jolt2007
    11. flahavaj
    12. Voltwad
    13. Dare 2 Defy
    14. campo
    15. JP Liz
    16. Cactus Col
    17. dojojoe
    18. Pingu Girl
    19. SlickRic
    20. Mr Nice Guy

So to clarify things campo will finish off Round 9 for us and then Spongey1975 will get Round 10 off and running.

    Happy pickings etc.

Time now to turn my attention towards my women's division and I think I've got two fabulous wrestlers who I believe have never been drafted in previous games before. I know Cactus believes he has the greatest women's wrestler of all time on his roster, and indeed he may be right, but I think also a case can be made for this woman. She is a former WCW Women's Champion and a well known figure in her native Japan. She is in the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame and has a 5 star rated match which some consider the finest women's match of all time. She is nicknamed The Dangerous Queen and her name is Akira Hokuto.

    Akira%2BHokuto%2Bwrestling.jpg

Here's a sample of what I'm getting from this pick:

Joining her will be her tag team partner from Gaea Japan where she held the tag title belts with Hokuto. She is a very tough wrestler in her own right who can work a brawl-style match or a technical one and she too has participated in some classic matches. She is Mayumi Ozaki.

    RackMultipart.19768.0_display_image.jpg

Like Hokuto, Ozaki has appeared on WCW and here is a sample of what she has to offer my roster:

Championships and Accomplishments - Akira Hokuto

    All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling
    AJW Junior Championship (1 time)
    All Pacific Championship (2 times)
WWWA World Tag Team Championship (4 times) - with Yumiko Hotta (1), Suzuka Minami (2) and Mima Shimoda (1)[1]
    AJW Hall of Fame (1998)[15]
    Japan Grand Prix (1993)

    Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre
CMLL World Women's Championship (1 time)

    GAEA Japan
AAAW Tag Team Championship (1 time) - with Mayumi Ozaki

    World Championship Wrestling
    WCW Women's Championship (1 time)

    Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards
5 Star Match (1993) vs. Shinobu Kandori on April 2
Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame (Class of 2000)
Championships and Accomplishments - Mayumi Ozaki

WWWA World Tag Team Championship (1 time) - with Dynamite Kansai

    GAEA Japan
    AAAW Singles Championship (1 time)
AAAW Tag Team Championship (3 times) - with Aja Kong (1), Akira Hokuto (1), and KAORU (1)

    Japan Women's Pro Wrestling
    JWP Junior Championship (3 times)
    UWA Junior Championship (1 time)

    JWP Project
JWP Tag Team Championship (3 times) - with Cutie Suzuki (2), and Hikari Fukuoka (1)

    Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards
5 Star Match (1993) with Cutie Suzuki vs. Kyoko Inoue and Takako Inoue on April 2
5 Star Match (1993) with Dynamite Kansai vs. Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamadaon April 11
5 Star Match (1993) with Dynamite Kansai, Cutie Suzuki, and Hikari Fukuoka vs. Aja Kong, Sakie Hasegawa, Kyoko Inoue, and Takako Inoue on July 31
5 Star Match (1993) with Dynamite Kansai vs. Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada on December 6
Match of the Year (1993) with Dynamite Kansai vs. Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada on April 11

With these picks I'm getting two fantastic workers who I believe can give my other female Victoria some really cracking matches.

    - Lou Thesz
    - William Regal

OK with the jig being up with Gimmick awesomely securing a new Q&A with arguably Ireland's finest wrestler, I can't wait another round to procure his services! wBw's next wrestler is a fantastic in-ring talent, and a gleaming example of the pure talent in Ireland.

Previously in NWA Hammerlock, he moved to Japan where he trained in the New Japan Dojo. He attained great success in NJPW, this man currently holds the IWGP Jr Tag titles, after a brace of stunning matches against the MotorCity Machine Guns, with his current partner, Ryusuke Taguchi (known as Apollo 55). He made it to the finals of last year's Best of the Super Juniors Tournament, where he was bested by now 2-time winner, Koji Kanemoto. With an impressive wrestling repertoire and legitimate credentials, the sky is the limit for this proud Irish warrior.

wBw proudly spends it's 10th pick on the supremely talented :

    Prince (Fergal) Devitt
    fergaldevitt006.jpg

Unfortunately since Ryusuke Taguchi hasn't wrestled in NWA, ROH, TNA or WWE I can't draft him too. Oh well!

    wBw Roster :
    Kurt Angle
    MotorCity Machine Guns
    KENTA
    The Miz
    John Morrison
    Senshi
    The Brian Kendrick
    Hiroshi Tanahashi
    Raven
    BxB Hulk
    Shingo Takagi
    Gail Kim
    ODB
    Prince Devitt

My next pick is one of the most entertaining..... entertainers in WWE today. His knowledge of everything wrestling related is incredible, and he has the charisma to go with his knowledge. He has the talent to be a wrestler, a manager or an announcer. Whatever he chooses to do, he seems to do it very well. He may well want to educate all of you as part of my roster. Please welcome...

    Matt Striker

    4903206

And for the sake of it, along with Striker, I will choose the man who he won the USA Pro Tag Team Championship with 3 times. He himself is a former NWA-TNA Tag Team champion. He wrestled in the original ECW, and then TNA after that.

    Simon Diamond

I need a black tag team for my storyline.

    Mark Henry and D-Lo Brown
    060219_CinGorilla_vmed.widec.jpg
He might not be as much of a ****** as Micheal Hayes but cult figure Mizark Henry is a legit former world's strongest man and an entertaining wrestler. His career is a mix of peaks and valleys but on ECW he showed how great he could be as the strong impossing heel.

Next I'm have to add to my roster of Japanese wrestlers, because these guys are just too incredible to pass up. Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi, together known as Speed Muscle.
    yoshinobiopic.jpgdoibiopic.jpg
Yoshino has to be the fastest wrestler in the ring of all time. The speed and smoothness he has in the ring is just amazing and has to be seen to be believed. Doi is one of the best wrestlers in the world today, being a part of arguably the best matches on each of the Dragon Gate USA shows so far, but enough talk. Have a look for yourself if you never seen these guys before. Here's their match in TNA against the Motor City Machine Guns. It's not too long so you have no excuse not to watch it :P http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x66bd7_tna-impact-6-12-08-speed-muscle-vs_sport

For my next pick I'm going for one of the most underrated and underused big man wrestlers of recent years, Mike Awesome. I always lobved Awesome in ECW and always thought he had buckets of talent. Whether he was throwing people through ringdside tables wit recklerss abandon or oulling off ridiculous suicide dives, he was always a guy who had that special "it" factor and it baffles me that neither WCW nor WWE could find something for someone with his talent and look. He proved at one Night Stand that in recent years he has lost none of his unreal talent when he had by far the matcvh of the night Of course it also helps that I've already booked the one wrestler that always brought the absolute best in Awesome.....expect some people to by eating some tables very very soon.

I must say, I'm delighted that Sky and Love were still available and that I now get them. These 2 are what the TNA Knockout division is about. The original "Beautiful People" were such a great heel tag team which is something the D.W.O needs. The D.W.O better get a couple of brown paper bags and a few cans of hair-spray at the ready for when these 2 enter.

    Angelina Love:

It gives me great pleasure to introduce one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Possibly a generation too early, but easily up there with the Midnight Express, the Road Warriors, the Freebirds, and the Dudley Boys. They literally set the template for how Samoan wrestlers would be portrayed for the next two decades, as well as training a large number of future world champions. I give you:

Seeing as I have Samoa Joe in the role of William Regal's protege in my TV storyline it's a logical step for me to now add Lou Thesz's protege - and the guy who beat him in his last ever match - into the equation. Ladies and gentlemen my tenth round pick and newest addition to my roster...Masahiro Chono.

    04.jpg

Considered by many to be one of the greatest Japanese heels ever, he has a hard-hitting technical style that will fit in beautifully with the other names on my books and has the potential to have some cracking matches. He is a former NWA World Champion and nWo member.

Has a pretty cool theme tune resembling a battle tune from FF VII which gets him another thumbs up from me and he has some degree of English which will prove useful for my storylines.

    Sorry BH :pac:

The fact that I can make this pick in round 11 is beyond belief. To describe how important this man is to wrestling is nearly impossible. Before the rock was off making Doom, this man was starring in over 50 successful films. He has had Cartonns and Comics made about him. Coming from a country that has a huge historical tradition of wrestling, this man is without any doubt, the single biggest star to emerge. He was an absolute pioneer in the wrestling ring, captavating audiences with ariel moves that had never been seen before. He was without a doubt, a hero.

    Santo

    ....and

I will also take a man that Santo won the Mexican National Tag Team Championship with twice. He was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Hall Of Fame in 1996, and starred in several films. Though not as big a star as Santo, he is still look upon as one of the true greats in Lucha Libre History

    Rayo de Jalisco

no need to Apologize Ger you only ended up taking my backup pick :)

now let me introduce the man wiki describes as:

known as the "Father of Puroresu" and one of the most influential men in wrestling history.
He was credited with bringing the sport of professional wrestling to Japan

I give you the 16th member of the BWA, a man who has also appeared in 29 films....Rikidōzan!

who dominated the tag team scene in Japan forming a successful tag team with Rikidozan, along whom he won four times the All Asia Tag Team Championship, which was the top tag title in Japan and which is now contested in All Japan Pro Wrestling.

    and
was therefore the first japanese wrestler to win a world title in Professional Wrestling

The 17th member of the BWE... Toyonobori
