Looked knocked on but jaysus. They're up for this.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭troyzer

Lol, unplayable with the ball in hand.

We get sucked into being isolated though. Fiji very clever

Ireland being destroyed on the ground

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭troyzer

Everytime they get the ball they score. Impossible to stop.

They're too big and too fast.

Ireland simply go into contact far too much. Terrified to go backwards like the more experienced teams.

Need to use Conroy as more than a decoy.

Ireland being destroyed on the ground

Yeah we lose our support and then they pounce. Same as New Zealand yesterday where they outmuscle us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭troyzer

They make it look too easy.

Conroy gets chance to stretch legs and gets score 28-17 now

33-24 loss but real top class performance

Couple of missed kicks in there as well. It was really close.

The lads can be extremely proud of that performance.

The Fijians are almost impossible to play against, and considering there was only 4 points in it until Dardis was binned with less than a minute remaining, that's a serious achievement.

    Great game.

This Irish side is so good to watch.
A bit green tactically, but that will come with more exposure at this level

    Incredible performance.

Really Good game for the most part. Really put it up to the Fijians.

Canada next for the 5th place playoff semi

Really impressive stuff from the lads and you can see that loads of the problems could be put down to just not being used to playing opposition this good all the time so hopefully being on the circuit will help that and we'll see some serious improvement from the lads which is sort of scary to think, if the majority can stick around that is.

Into 5th place final against New Zealand. Serious achievement to get 6th but 5th would be an unbelievable achievement to back up last years event.

    England being embarrassed by Japan.

They will finish 14th of 16 teams at their home tournament.

Respectable effort in the 5/6 final against NZ - without Conroy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

NZ showing strength/experience now. 2mins to go 28-14

Yeah, NZ pulling away as we run out of gas but they've shown they can compete at the top level.

    35-14 final score

A shame Conroy didn't get another chance on the big stage. He has made quite a name for himself.

To only lose to the 2nd and 3rd best sevens teams this season in London is a pretty good achievement. To back it up in Paris would be a serious statement.
