Alfie Barn Rat seems to hang around leaderboards on Sundays no reason Shane cant.

I'm a fan of Shane and I hope he learns from playing with Harrington on Sunday. Padraig looked more comfortable than Shane. He didn't let the bogey on 2 or hitting it into the water get to him.
He was patient, took the lucky break when he got it and took on the risk to get the eagle.

Shane hit hooks on 1,3 and 4 and never looked as settled as Harrington. He hit some very good shots but he seemed tense and that may have affected his putting.

His chipping is brilliant and I can see why Mark Roe talks him up.

Hopefully there's a win coming soon.

71 today forT11 with some to still finish, including a 4 under front nine and 3 over back nine with an 8 on the par 5 14th hole along the way

Playing a stormer today. -5 for the day to get within 1 of the lead. Might be better for him not to be in the final group tomorrow to try and push for a win.

Great round today and great result for him thanks to others dropping shots late on. Should move up to around 60th in tomorrow's world rankings update.

Up to 58th in the world. Let's hope he pushes on now. He was looking like he might drop out of the to 100 not that long ago, so great to see him climb the rankings again.

Anyone see that tweet or Insta of him swimming in the rooftop pool in Dubai with his daughter? Life is good in the Lowry household.

The pairing of Lowry and McDowell are currently leading the QBE shootout by a shot after 15 holes.

It is a limited field 54 hole competition. 1st round is scramble, 2nd round is scotch foursomes and the final round is fourball.

Anyone know if a win here will earn them any sort of extension to tour cards or such? ie Is there anything in this for them aside from cash?

Doubt anything apart from cash, non-sanctioned event, but I'm not sure?

$410,000 each for the winners. $70,000 each for last place. That should help to sort out the Christmas shopping!

They finished up coming second......that must be a nice pay cheque.

AFAIK, Its only Tigers 18 man field that gets world ranking points, something I'll never understand.

I think giving world ranking points in a team event would be a ludicrous idea. It’s easy for a player’s performance to be misrepresented by the team performance.

Whilst your point on world ranking points is valid, it is notable that when Cameron Smith and Jonas Blixt won the Zurich Classic in April of this year as a team, they both earned a 2 year tour exemption and FedEx Cup points also. No World ranking points were on offer. It did get them both an invite to the Players Championship and The Tournament of Champions so overall was a lot in it for them. It seems last weekends event was not a full PGA tour event however.

Funnies exist, only for The Presidents Cup counting as a European Tour event Patrick Reed would not be a European Tour member next year

So I’m evening 2 into The Farmers Insurance open and I don’t think they’ve shown Shane once. Granted I’m watching it in the US. They are only showing about 6 groups all the time. Would really put you off the American networks. But hold on, they show Fowler at -1 and Woods at +1 so that’s ok...

It’s tigers group and Rahm’s group. Sky getting their coverage from US networks

Great way of turning people off golf by only showing certain groups. Thankfully the European tour see the bigger picture.

    1) They can't show everyone and 2) there are several million extra people tuning in this week to see one golfer.

Understandable but even top players like Justin Thomas making jokes about how much focus is on him.

If it was a major it would be all about him plus several others....no reason this can’t be the same, cameras on every hole.

Yeah saw Justin commenting on it alright. Although he did want to see Tom Lovelady and I'm not sure how much the general viewership would agree with him.
Hoping Shane can work his way up the leaderboard and force his way onscreen come Sunday. Also fancy him to go well in 2 weeks at Pebble Beach.

No I understand Highline, be just nice to see a sprinkling of the other 3 balls. I think Shane is going to struggle this year over there.
