Michelle Doherty's favourite musician is PJ Harvey aswell

    I interviewed her, she hadn't a clue

Although she has good taste most of the time...apart from The Coronas

Michelle Doherty knows feck all about music lol

So she knows nothing about music but has good taste most of the time and likes PJ Harvey?

Are there a slew of people posting using your account or do you just have an odd idea of what 'knowing something about music' entails?

What did you interview her for?

Didn't get to see all of the show due to an early start this morning - but Health, The XX and The Dodo's in the first 3 songs was a great opener!

Not bad at all. All seemed a bit autocue, but the songs were good. So mission successful I'd say. The Dodos were excellent, the only band I hadn't really been familiar with beforehand.

I'd never heard of Health before but really liked that song. And The xx "Crystallised" is one of my favourite songs from this year, so it was a great start!
The two presenters were a tad wooden but other than that it seems like a pretty good show.

Remember how nervous and wooden Donal Dineen looked when he was on No Disco though? Didn't matter cause the music was great.

Didn't get to watch this last night but will be checking it out on the Player over the next few days.

They played Whelans a few weeks ago...clashed with Pixies so didn't get to catch them!

I was very impressed. Just happened to catch thefirst half an hour. Played some very good music. Doesnt matter about presenters. Pat Kenny could host it just as long as the producers keep playing solid gold tunes

Glad to see the thread is back on topic, no more getting petty digs in guys -thanks.

No Disco was a bit before my time, never saw it.
But yeah, I suppose that as long as the music's good it doesn't really matter who presents it.

Good to see a music programme on telly.

Sad to say it was quite boring.

Just watching it now. Yer man Mullally used to have dreadlocks didn't he. Brando had a single I used to love. Can't for the life of me remember name of the single though? Ten smug points for anyone who can tell me.

    Brando.

I only know that cos it says so on the press release.
I was at a gig of theirs years back. All i can remember is a song possibly called "hero" because one of the lyrics was "If i had a hero, he'd look a bit like me" to which the soundman, on hearing this, broke his ****e laughing.

Jaysus that's so annoying. I was at Brand'o's last ever gig too!

Yeah I have the band name alright. Just can't remember the name of the damn song of theirs, I used to love. Hero doesn't ring any bells. Have the single in a box upstairs somewhere. Might dig it out tomorrow to see what it was called. Can't even remember the tune of it!

Were they any good? I absolutely loved this particular song I'm talking about but for some reason I never investigated further to see what the rest of their stuff was like.

They were decent, better than alot from that time. Saw them twie or three times in total got better each time. From memory they split up to move to NY/The US to try and make it. I know the song you are talking about too i think. Very catchy 90's indie guitar and drums driven. If you go into Dave or Julie in Road recs they good help you out.

Blotooth were another nice actfr om back then, went on to become Juno Falls (i think!)

I was thinking of No Disco earlier. What was the female presenters name again? Didn't she die in a car crash a few years ago?

Haven't managed to watch this show yet as it's way past my bed time.

It was Uaneen Fitzsimons, RIP. Great presenter and real tragedy she died so young.

"In Every Sunflower" by Bell X1 is written about her cos Paul Noonan was going out with her at the time. Has only been played live once ever, at Hot Press awards of that year.

Why would anyone call a show after a song about a loss of a pregnancy?

It's just the phrase that is the name of the show
