Ladies and Gentlemen of the forum,

As today is the 1st of Movember the time for mo growing has just kicked off.

Give support in any way you can, kind word on the moards forum to cheer on the mo bros and mo sistas of boards.ie, or if you've any money to spare (lucky you) maybe donate it to one of the team members

Spread the word, grow a mo and most importantly spread awareness amongst your friends and family. It could save a life.

He's gett'n old. He's 9 1/3, which is 65.3333331 in dog years but about 85.5466673 in Bulldog years.

Just thought I'd liven the tread up.:D.

I'll let you's now what happens.

suey71 it happens when pets get old, had the same thing with our cat which we had to put to sleep this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭Gaspode

Get a replacement yet? Probably not a good time of the year to be getting one, wait till after Christmas and the DSPCA will have loads for adoption.

Now that I mention it, we're off to see Santa in the DSPCA in Rathfarnham next week. Was good out there last year, but we wanted to adopt everything, and we were lucky to get away without bring home a donkey!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

It;s not been a week yet so no we havent got a replacement, it's too soon.
We might think about it by spring.

Sorry to hear about your cat Thaedydal.

But our dog just wee's and poo's if he doesn't get what he wants or sometimes he couldn't be bothered to go outside(too cold or something).

I don't think I'd get another dog until the kids grow up, in about 20 years, and then I'd get a small one and have him neutured.

We have 3 kids from 7 down and another due in Feb. so we cant give him the attention that he needs. Its kind of sad because before the kids came along we treated him like a child.

I hope it stops snowing forever. I have enough trouble trying to get to college in the cold, let alone the snow.

    lollers

Oh it stuck, nearly an inch of it, kids were hopping up and down like loons.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,030 ✭✭✭angel01

Saw the snow when I woke this morning :D:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭Gaspode

Not enough yet, we need another good 6-8 inches to make it any fun!
I told my daughter this morning that if it keeps snowing she could take most of next week off. Her joy was short-lived when she remembered she's off from tuesday anyway.

There have to be some perks associated with this parenting lark.
She's young enough yet to fall for that stuff, so I'm making the most of it

I believe the traffic around Navan road/Auburn Ave is crap at the mo. As soon as there's a tiny bit of bad weather it all seems to go to pot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

    The snow wasn't a lie! \o/

I was on the Naas road earlier and as soon as Christmas FM played Let It Snow it started snowing! :)

yay ... no work for a week. so no driving out into that trafic for a week... la la la !! Happy day.

Are the roads really bad? I think the roads in Cork are finally starting to thaw but I have to drive to Clonsilla tomorrow and I'm worried. :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

The last two days were bad but the main roads how have enough traffic on them that they are thawing but lesser traveled roads like those in the warrens of estates were treacherous the last while.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭Gaspode

Probably just the estates alright. Bright & sunny now though so that should shift some of the ice.

Thanks Thaed. :) The weather has been mad, hasn't it? At least a lot of people were able to stay at home the last few days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭Gaspode

Good grief, I'd hate to live anywhere near the centre, and have to deal with that traffic all the time. I wasnt even going to the centre, just dropping my wife off at her mates in Lohunda but had to drive through it. We'd have got to Cork quicker!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

I live fairly close but that means we tend to walk to it and tend to be driving in the oppsite direction from traffic heading to the centre. The biggest annoyance is the time it adds on to bus journies, I'd sooner walk the 15 mins to the stop outside of the centre then the one 3 mins from the house and then have it take 40 mis for the bus to get in and out of the shopping centre, the village is almost as bad, the sooner the sort out the bus routes the better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,044 ✭✭✭Gaspode

I'm normally a calm person, but traffic just does my head in. Thankfully I get to walk to work every day, or I'd have had a breakdown by now, probably taking out a few others with me!
