There's always something isn't there? :( Thanks for reminding me about that Enternow, off to flip that Aliens versus Predator board over!

One thing that always bothered me about the whole phoenixing thing is what do you do if Raz decides to stop? probably best to get them all done ASAP indeed.

There's a few lads that do it, I just generally support him as it was a lot of his work that went into deciphering the encryption...so in a nutshell, he deserves it.

You can also buy the phoenixed rom images from him, if you have the facility to programme your own eeproms. He will send you the images & you programme yourself.

I think also the phoenixed edition roms for most games are floating about on the net, so you can also grab them for free & contribute nothing if one was inclined, & diy them as above.

I do know though that a few lads do it legitimately, who purchase the images from Raz & provide a legitimate service...there was a chap doing it in the states I think, as its not really viable for US residents posting chips to Raz.

I'm actually toying with the idea of getting a CDZ, but I want to see what loading times for non-fighters are like.

Quoting myself but I just answered my own question. Play the video below and skip to 2mins 30secs and all will be revealed (rather hilariously actually).

Radiant Silvergun can be had for bargain prices as well. It goes for 80-90 euros a lot. I let on got for 80 euro recently since I'm broke :(

True. I am one of these folks. I'm having my first 'Super Wife Evasion Tactical Combat Special Ops Secret Service Mega Black Label Densha de Go! Go!' training with Jason Bourne and Garrett from Thief tomorrow after work in relation to two certain Neo Geo titles I won on eBay yesterday. :o

This here post, for whatever reason, has just stimulated my Neo Geo game wanting gland.

I can see my savings taking a beating this week I can tell ya!!

As for your wishlist, add an AES of Pulstar to it. Just make sure to have some valium on stand by for your bank manager (and a tranquillizer gun aimed at your wife's butt when the parcel plops on your doormat)!

AES Pulstar is never going to happen in my house, not unless I win the lottery! I will have its on the NGCD some day though. It looks ****ing amazing so it does! Up there with Art of Fighting 3 as one of the system's most astounding looking games for sure!

It only loads once ever level though so its not too bad really.

The CDZ is quicker but that machine suffers from overheating so I'd steer well clear to be honest with you. MVS really is the way to go if you don't want to look at fancy boxes.

Nor mine. But if I do win the lotto... :D

I wonder if there are any cooling mods for it? As for MVS, yep that's the way I went, more games for less Enda Kenny's patented bailout tokens.

Here's a list of Neo Geo CD and CDZ loading times:

Neo forum has FAQS on system here- http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?2346-All-About-NEO-GEO-CD

MVS shmups aren't that expensive really. Pulstar would be the most, but you'd still get that for under €100. It's more a case of being hard to find.

I wouldn't touch a Neo Geo CD unit with a barge poll.

I haven't managed to find an MVS Pulstar yet but it's proving harder to find than the AES version for me!

I'm in two minds about Neo Geo CD/Z. On the one hand it means I can get SHMUPS cheap, on the other hand....

a Neo Geo CD will just frustrate you in the long run. You'll be left wondering why you spend all that money on it and games when you could have used it for MVS carts instead ;)

Add Pulstar to your Ebay email notifications. It does come up now and again. Last one was only a few weeks ago in the UK. Ended for about 70 or 80 pounds.

I've toned it down as of late. You'd want to see me a year or so ago, I was the Mrs Doyle of Arcade and Retro.

'Oisin, I really don't need this arcade machine. I already have 6 because of you!'

'Ah go on, go on, go on, go on...'

And look at all the nice toys you have as a result! If only that commission rumour were true...

    >_>

    <_<

On another note, I still can't stop buying NGP games. Just got Neo Cherry Master, King of Fighters R2 and Dragon's Wild. Think I'm about 1/3 of a way through the PAL set now.

Excellent stuff. You going for all cib versions? Those cases really are lovely looking, would be cool to have a complete boxed set.

Yep! That's the goal. I reckon I should be able to get to 20 games without breaking the bank. There are then probably 10 remaining ones ranging from uncommon to rare which'll be harder to get. But sure that's the fun of it..and I already have Magical Drop, so at least that's a start! :)

Blimey! The Wonderswan is TINY isn't it!? It looks flippin HUGE in photos and videos. I'm surprised. A lot.

I take it that's your way of saying - 'I got a Wonderswan, na na na naaa nah!' :D

    Black and white or colour?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

Yep, I got a Wonderswan Color. Loose. Just now landed on my desk along with other goodies.

I also got a CIB Wonderswan Crystal on the way but that's not been shipped yet. :)

But it's bloody small though isn't it? Tiny little yolk!

My tenner copy of SMT: Strange Journey just arrived. Thought it was going to be a vanilla copy at that price, but no, soundtrack and all :) Play-asia really upping their game. Less than two weeks shipping too!

However, postman still hasn't brought a 3DS  Need to go knockin' on doors me thinks.

It's one console I don't own and have never seen in person! Would love to see some size comparison pics.

Oh and I assume Judgement Silversword is next on your list? ;)

Crap man, you're really waiting a while for that :( did they say they sent it out to you?

Yeah they sent it off Tuesday fortnight ago (they had been waiting on it to arrive from Nintendo in fairness). Should probably have arrived by now, but its not the first time I've been waiting way too long for a package to arrive. Might call down to the sorting office and see if its arrived.

I'll take some comparison pics of the Color, Crystal, NGP, PSP 1003, GBA, DS Lite and DSi XL when I have them all together. As for Judgement Silversword, I very nearly snagged it last week but the price just got ridiculous.

Instead of getting that I got two MVS SHMUPS instead and that's me tapped out for the next 800 years. :o

You know, you'd be entitled to say that if you didn't own an AES, a Virtual Boy, an X68000, Amigas, Panzer Dragoon Saga and loads of other winky elitist hardware and software.

Pot, kettle, black and all that jazz :p

Was that the one in Germany that ended up more than one CIB on BIN. I put in a bid at 65 and knew straight off it was gonna rocket upwards:(
Might try buy a copy this week with my last pay cheque

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

I forget where it was located but I think that was the one yes. It beat a BIN price so I said I'll leave it.

I bought Blazing Star, Aero Fighters 2 and Last Resort for my Neo Geo kit instead! :D

Must have been the same one then. There's been a couple for €100 lately one sold not too long ago but 100 is a lot for a WS game and it might just send the missus into human eradication mode

Is that the going rate for that game? I have no idea what it's worth.
