Haven't seen it but apparently it goes from the Brisco/Patterson interview to Jarrett & Debra's entrance with the obvious mood change.

What is edited out I assume is the Blue Blazer pre-taped interview, Jim Ross's "there's been a horrible accident" speech and a dreadfully, dreadfully sad attempt at remaining in character interview with Owen's close friend Jeff Jarrett and Debra as they try to press on with the Val Venis and Nicole Bass vs Jeff Jarrett and Debra storyline/match.

Human curiosity is what it is but there are comments already online from people who watched it or re-watched the show expressing regret over doing so. The ring is broken, there's a blood stain on the canvas, wrestlers and announcers traumatised etc.

Did they retain The Rock's "Owen, The Rock loves ya'" bit from later on in the show? I believe he did it mid-match.

Was that not from the raw after the ppv?

I'd imagine Triple H's Twitter Q+A will break down pretty quickly

    Speaking of which:
It was so popular the 1st time I'm bringing it back. I'm LIVE tweeting #AskDixie this Thursday on #IMPACT InterActive

It may be made much more entertaining this time by her responding in character.

In fairness to Triple H, he does tend to be a pretty witty person in real life. I can imagine him taking whatever hate/trolling he gets on the chin and making a few jokes.

I'd imagine half the questions will be about Randy Savage and Stephanie, and/or Randy's lack of hall of fame induction. :D

Wrestling fans love a bit of controversy.

Expect Triple H's Twitter Q+A to have a few questions in regards to Daniel Bryan

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

I'm fairly sure Trips has heard every smark insult ever during his career and is well able to handle it.

I always did like how HBK dealt with trolls and retards by trolling them, case in point his replies to "fans" after Hell in a Cell :D

I read something on FAN that suggests that Summerslam's final numbers bumped up to a good 332,000; good news for those on the 'YES' bandwagon.

I dunno, he always seems quite like Nash to me, so ridiculously self-satisfied with his own witticisms that he just seems a bit deluded.

Obviously not as bad as Nash though, who, in spite of his obvious success at being a manipulative ****, seems like an idiot.

how does he seem like an idiot?

He never shows any great reasoning for anything, he's that dude you knew in school who was a blatant w*nker but for some reason people were charmed by him. Most of Nash's long run of success came almost exclusively from luck (a spectacular run of luck, mind) yet it's made out as if he's some kind of super shrewd manipulator.

Idiot might be going a bit far but, at best, Nash is an average mind in a crowd of absolute idiots.

Jim Ross appeared on Opie & Anthony this morning and told a story about Vince McMahon having an accident during the Attitude Era. The story goes that Vince wanted to fart to make Gerald Brisco vomit but he did it right before he was getting ready to cut a live promo. Instead of just farting, Vince "sharted" in his pants. Vince was wearing light khaki pants and the workers in the production truck were all laughing at him but none of them were brave enough to film it.

Definitely heard some writer mention that story before, they said he chased Brisco with the soiled pants afterward too, which I assume was just someone embellishing the story.

I did too. Court Bauers and Dave Laganas mush together attribution wise.

Even in the 70s and 80s wrestler would do stuff to make Gerry Briscoe vomit as his stomach was so weak.

Definitely looking forward to RAW on Tuesday morning, and it's in Chicago to boot. Got a feeling the Chicago crowd will be all out hostile

That page is a bit sad tbh. They'd swear that the WWE are absolutely clueless about everything. They know that we want to see Bryan with the title, they know how we feel about Batista they're not complete idiots. There'll be Punk chants all night and thats all fine and well but he walked away, its not the WWEs fault.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 12,013 Mod ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Well it is, really. Both Punk & WWE are at fault. Punk is quite stubborn and WWE failed to do enough to keep him on board. He must've been really fed up to walk out right before a big Mania payday with only a couple months left on his contract (being in breach, he's forgoing considerable royalties)

I think you're right though (it's just a sad reality) that WWE know what the vocal majority want, and refuse to budge on their position. Or budge the least amount possible because WWE are just as stubborn.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

That is so idiotic and downright disrespectful to the other wrestlers who go out and bust their asses to entertain them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

That twitter page is a bit OTT, but that being said, a great crowd makes it worth watching RAW from start to finish without skipping anything. I'm looking forward to it.

A breakdown on edits of PPV events on the WWE Network that I've discovered:

WWE's 1997 UK PPV (One Night Only) is the edited home video version that WWE released towards the end of '97 and cut down to 2 hours. It omits 3 matches, including the Bret Hart vs. Undertaker match that WWE mentions in the description underneath the video player. This is very strange because in 2012, the full 3-hour show was aired on the Classics On Demand channel.

New Jack's matches on ECW PPVs have been edited out (with the lone exception of his bout with Mustafa at Living Dangerously 1999). His return to ECW at Heat Wave 1999 (running in and attacking the Dudleys) has also been removed. His run-ins into other wrestlers' matches on other ECW PPVs are still intact....at least for now.

The Network's airings of The Big Event 1986, King of the Ring 1993-1997, SummerSlam 1995-1997, and several In Your Houses are all taken from the Coliseum Video releases rather than the live versions.

WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 is WCW's home video release that omits footage of a fan run-in after Hulk Hogan's heel turn. Whenever WWE has put that match on a WWE Home Video release, the fan run-in has been included, so they are in possession of the live PPV version.

WCW Halloween Havoc 1990 is the Turner Home Entertainment home video release that was reduced from 3 hours to 2.

Most of the WCW theme music that Jimmy Hart wrote is included on the WCW PPVs(Wolfpac, 3 Count, Disco Inferno). However, some of Hart's other WCW music has been edited out and replaced (DDP's "Self High Five" theme, Shane Douglas's 2000-01 theme). This makes very little sense because WWE did not do this to any of Hart's WCW music when WCW footage aired on Classics On Demand.

On SummerSlam 1991, the song "Together" (written by Jim Johnston and Jimmy Hart) during the Randy Savage and Elizabeth video before their wedding has been replaced by different music. So believe it or not, WWE dubbed over one of their own, in-house songs.

Several shows still have "WWF" references edited out even though that was supposed to be a non-issue after 2012.

Also watching GAB 89 the other night, WWF was blurred out on a sign. Cant remember exactly what it said but it was something like "NWA is better than the WWF".
