I'm feeling very guilty I didn't take advantage of a lovely morning in London. Instead rode straight to work, instead of leaving earlier... Argh!

Whenever anything significant happens, such as the London riots, the news media quotes numerous eye-witnesses as saying: "It was so weird man, it was like a film or sum'ink [sic]!"

Why are we so disbelieving when real life throws up something interesting?

P.s. The Revolution WILL be televised, endlessly...

    http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/big-increase-in-uk-cyclist-casualties-31271

Bad news in general, but noticed this:
Recent evidence indicates that cyclists who wear helmets are 14 percent more likely to have a collision per mile cycled than those without, and are more likely to suffer neck injuries.

Anyone know what study he's quoting?

Quote of the day to some Waterstones employee in the UK who, when asked about the riots, apparently came out with the following gem.....

"We're staying open, and if they steal our books, they might learn something" :)

Looking at those pics thinking she's got some proper cyclist tan lines!!! Google her name, realise she's actually a cyclist, it all begins to make sense...

The study with the 14% figure is
Erke A, Elvik R. Making Vision Zero real: Preventing pedestrian accidents and making them less severe. TOI, Norwegian Centre for Transport Research, Report 889/2007.

(It includes cyclists as well as pedestrians)

No HR strap or speed/cadence included. It's just the computer

That's still a pretty decent price, about 50 lower than Hnadtec (who usually have good GPS prices). The HR strap and cadence unit go for between 30-35 pounds each, so you can pick those up easily enough.

Good price alright. Shame not in black though, blue is so last year :)

I was a little clumsy with my wording. I knew that it wasn't coming with a HR strap and cadance sensor but I wasn't able to find it anywhere else for even close to this price. It was late so I was just checking with you guys to make sure that I wasn't having a blond moment.
