Wait footpaths on the flyover? The whole interchange is under motorway regulations so there can't be walking on footpaths?

There's also (incorrect) end of motorway restriction signs approaching the roundabout from the slip roads.

100% correct call. Bypass lying idle is ridiculous.

.
Could there be a "non-motorway" section just for the roundabout, or is it more likely a cockup!

I've heard from a reliable source that up to 80 signs have to be replaced/changed at 2 different interchanges.
Not sure why.

could it be the Gaeltacht town Claregalway only being written in Irish as Baile Chláir with no english version, as per the rules books - which to 99% of the population from outside of the locality would not be an intuitive translation.

Nah every road that leads inescapably to a motorway has to be a motorway (so you don't get stuck). That means the roundabout has to be motorway. Also, all of the motorway orders for this stretch reference the roundabout as motorway.

Those signs are indeed wrong.

Was the original intention not to have a service station attached to this roundabout? These signs were probably added because of that but never removed when the station was dropped from the plans......

I have question about the Rathmorrissy junction. Will the roundabout have one or two lanes?

Great progress shots everyone. Can't wait till its finally open.
Heard today from a reliable source that the motorway won't be open till December this year.
It will be ready after the cycle run in September but the council won't pay the contractors to maintain the road for the extra period.
Tidy up after road crashes, fix damaged barriers cut grass etc etc.
Obviously they don't sit in ClareGalway for Clarinbridge traffic for hours every week.
Next one that knocks on my door for a vote.............
