So, if the road looks a good bit offline from the existing R332 - that's because it is meant to be.

Also, the four houses pictured above inside the lower loop of the junction have all been demolished.

I wouldn't have thought it before, but judging from what I'm seeing now, I would indeed expect an early opening for The Tuam Bypass.

Hopefully it's not too long before your southern cousin M20 can get out and about with their camera too. But by the looks of it he will be doing it in his retirement rather than free time.

There's an old fella that cycles in and out of Tuam every day. He has been doing this as long as I can remember and he must be well in his 70's. How will he manage? I imagine that the bridge being called a "footbridge" means it isn't too cycle friendly?

It will be wheelchair accessible I presume, so dismount and walk the bike across should be easy enough.

Fair play to him,they should ask him to cut the ribbon of the tuam bypass, instead of them so called councillors

Well to be fair, it's the councillors that did alot of work to ensure the motorway went ahead, infact such a project wouldn't have without their hard work. All your man does is cycle!

We have an awful attitude (in general) towards our politicians in Ireland, we can never give credit when they do something good and of benefit. I can't wait to see how much time the M18 knocks off the journey to galway!

The politicians basic job outside of gaining votes is to improve the lives of the people of the country. One could argue they are doing their job and if they were better at doing their job this piece of infrastructrure would have been in place years ago.
Credit where credit is due but lets not get carried away.

One could also argue that this infrastructure should never have been built, and the money instead poured into the more logical M20, but you should thank your local politicians for doing their work and getting the M17/M18 on track first.
