The top bar on the boards touch site doesn't show up on cm for some weird reason

I have CM set to full screen. Don't know if that makes a difference.

I use full screen too, but it does't chop the top of the site off! All the full screen mode does on my phone is remove the status bar along the top of the display.

    I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4

One problem I've noticed with cm browser, and would someone else check this on their phone?

On a website that you can click and add an attachment (Boards.ie for example) it doesn't let me select any file.

Ie, I was attempting to upload an image to imgur yesterday, it asked where I would like to take image from, the phone shows up as device, but you can't select it.

Hope I described my problem correctly. Can someone confirm this is the same on their device?

I could upload pictures to Facebook with it, if that's any good to you. When I clicked on the photo button, I got the option to select "Camera" or "Documents". Clicking Documents option allowed me to browse the gallery for the photo.

Have you tried an attachment on this site?

AndroidGuys did a breakdown of the best browsers on Android at the moment, and one that rated highly is one I had never heard of before - CM Browser.

It's a tiny download, small memory footprint and very fast. Worth a look.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ksmobile.cb

    That's a great little browser!

Usually, I wouldn't be bothered to change browsers, as I just stick with chrome, but the amount of replies about this one told me I should at least take a look.

Glad I did, it's a nice quick pretty looking one :D

I tried CM all day yesterday while traveling and nothing about it makes me want to switch from Dolphin, Dolphin is the closest you can get to a desktop experience on a portable device imo, from the way it handles your bookmarks, speed-dial, history, opening and closing new tabs etc, permanent desktop mode, it makes every other browser annoying in comparison. Not seeing this big speed increase that CM promises either.

I liked CM. I found it much easier to scroll through posts I was the process of writing than it is with other browsers which always seem to cause trouble.
    Good find OP.

CM is very fast all right, but does anyone else have problems with the fairly-basic-and-important function of opening links? When I browse the Irish Times home page, I often try to open links behind to the 5 or so stories that I'm interested in. If I click the headline of an article, it thinks I'm trying to select the text. Then when I click on the first few lines of text that appear on the home page, sometimes it works as a link, but other times, it doesn't do anything - very frustrating.

Fast for me as well but my phone (G510) seems to have a problem handling it. It's crashed a few times and the battery heats up as soon as I start using CM.

Looks like CM needs it's own thread :)

I emailed the developers & they replied very quickly. I suggest that people email with any problems or use their forum.

Have to say I'm not mad on CM browser, it is noticeably quicker than chrome for some things but it reminds me too much of dolphin browser and I was never a fan. Also don't like the fact the bar stays there at the bottom of the screen all the time making the screen feel smaller.

The bar goes away once you scroll down! Also you can set it to full screen in the settings.

Tried CM. Didn't like it. :o

One thing I did notice was that if there is a telephone number listed on a webpage and you tap it, nothing happens. If I do same in Chrome it opens the dialler.

For some reason CM was waking my HTC m8 every couple of minutes for what looked like 30 seconds, it caused my battery to drop to 40% over 7 hours with very little use. Once I uninstalled it everything is back to normal. Its a pity because I liked it. Anyone else have a similar issue?

That explains my brutal battery life yesterday! Wouldn't have guessed it was CM!

Check the power tab in your phones settings. It might not have been CM for you but it was for me!

Said it was screen, android system and android OS but it seems fine again now that I've deleted CM last night.

I was at 100% when I went to bed, when I woke this morning the phone was at 70%. Nothing else running, so must have been CM, which I have since uninstalled.

My phone heats up really badly when browsing on CM. I'm using a Samsung galaxy note 3 and never felt the phone this hot before.

Any chance of creating a cm thread. Any time I've checked this thread in the last couple of days for new android apps, its being somebody posting about CM Browser.

The wife is constantly forgetting her passwords and usernames, have installed her mSecure so she can always have them there. sure its premium but it suits her. also syncs with dropbox as well. i know there are other apps similar and probably free or cheaper but just throwing it out there

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mseven.msecure&hl=en

was available for Amazon a while back and used some of her 1000 free coins to get it for her.

OK I may have been dreaming but is there a app that allows you to pick the permissions an app can use. I am certain it was mentioned in here.

    Something like PDroid?

Any app with that kind of control would need Root.
