Dolphin for me aswell but recently they messed with the touch gestures and now you cant just tap the bottom left to bring up the gesture screen anymore so Ill probably move to Chrome or something soon.

I liked dolphin for a while, but I found that it was doing stuff in the background that was eating the battery. Switched back to Chrome for most of my browsing, but I use boat browser for accessing Facebook (again, the Facebook app was chewing battery, and mobile version of it seems to have no ill effects on battery)

Using Chrome, I just type the first letter of the page I want to visit and the option pops up, always found that handier than going into bookmarks and scrolling until I find what I want.

Though I did use gestures on Dolphin and really liked them

Its just two taps to get to the page I want. With typing one letter into the address bar its 3. Just quicker.

The Samsung browser gives you 3×3 view of your bookmarks. Thats more than I need at one time :)

Thats another reason Im still with Dolphin despite various annoyances, open a new tab and your 9 main bookmarks are their waiting for you on nice easy tiles, why doesnt every browser do this?

    Chrome does this as well.

    Chrome does this as well.

The best thing about chrome is how it syncs with your desktop/laptop chrome. When I open a new tab it shows the tabs I left open on my laptop, very handy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,869 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Does it? I havent looked at it for ages, think Ill switch to Chrome this week and see...

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,275 ✭✭✭evolutionqy7

    Chrome does this as well.

You have to press the home button > bookmarks > select bookmark. Doesn't have a nice presentation .

I never seen the point of the synced tabs. I never use the laptop or desktop in the first place to make use of that function. Even when I do sometimes, it doesn't give me a huge advantage

I use Chrome as my main browser since Opera was updated. Not mad on it but it is decent. + 1 on the point regarding presentation below.

Since the question is on browsers, (and this might be a real noob question), is there any browser that doesn't reload the page if you switch out of an app and then return to it?

If you open a new tab on Chrome it displays your frequently used sites, bookmarks or synced tabs. Whatever you left it on last time will open next time you open a new tab and you can choose via the bar down the bottom of the screen. Really handy and the main reason I use Chrome as my default browser.

Yeah but you have to press the tabs button and then wait for the thing to load up a little. Then press it. They all do it, in one way or another, but I still find it lacking to the stock browser.

Speeds are just as good and as mentioned before, chrome has no adjustments or parameters. Also it displays websites weird, everything in chrome is big and the text is massive. On stock one, the text and websites are scaled according to proper resolution .

Access ability option I'm chrome for adjusting text size doesn't work for me. Never has

Stock browser on the HTC one is is pretty similar to chrome without the added benefits.

This and the fact plugins like Lastpass work. Can't do without that and Chrome doesn't support plugins.

ONE Browser is well worth a try. I find myself always using it over Chrome.

Another browser to add to the list:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jiubang.browser&hl=en

Next Browser. Clean interface if nothing else.

Can anyone recommend an sms app similar to the stock galaxy s4. Have a nexus 4 but like the look of the Samsung one.

GO SMS can be made to look quite like Samsung with a bit of tweaking.

Have a look at sliding messages, it's a nice alternative. Also, Contacts+ has a decent SMS element built in to it.

This and the bookmarks is the reason I don't use chrome. Also, for some reason on chrome, sometimes when I click a link, chrome trys to download the html file (or whatever link I'm clicking on).
I prefer the samsung stock browser myself

Tried all the browsers in this thread, uninstalled them all for being too jerky and slow, Chrome doesnt seem to be able to render a web page properly without doing something weird which is surprising, usually massively oversized text in random areas, sticking with Dolphin for now, smooth, quick and reiable.

    HI,
I'm looking for a simple list app.
I want to be able to have multiple pages/tab and simple lists on each page/tab and able to cross off or delete from list easily.
I used to use shopshop iPHone app.

Try Google Keep. It can do more than you're looking for, but the checklist function is really good in it. Nice widget too.

The Digital Services Act 2024 [EU] ~ Social Media and You ~ Nanny State guidance for parental monitoring of apps ~ Censorship: - broad laws that will probably effect Adult use of same.

I use GTasks. Is this one much better and can you import from GTasks to Keep?
