But of course. That's what I've been doing all along with hugh and PW.

If you stuck a saddle on a giraffe and told me he'd a chance I'd back him...

Mike, if you are taking over this thread you may as well update the point totals as well.

I don't follow his tips, or anyone elses for that matter.

But I wouldn't be so quick to knock the followers. You've got to be very open minded to make money. Anyone who sits at the computer refreshing Hugh's page every morning with their bookies accounts open for the ready has certainly made a lot of money over the last month.

As it happens, this morning I browsed to Hugh's page (as I do every day). It showed me yesterdays page, I refreshed instantly and hey presto it was updated.
Knowing I was one of the first to see it, I threw a few quid e/w on Desert Dreamer at 12/1 as advised, knowing that at worst I could lay it off. It's now 9/1 best, soon to be 8's.

I didn't bother with the others. I have a e/w bet at 20's on Avertis in the 4.55, where he tipped something else.

Point is I wouldn't knock the followers. Hugh is the best tipster out there. I can't ever remember anyone as good. Take his advice for free when you can get it!

Stupid question time.... I know he is keeping count with the 1-5pt system, but what do the points mean? Higher value = better or worse chance of winning?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

More points = more confidence = higher stakes (not that I tend to bet more I have to say)

A point is like a unit of betting currency
    generally your standard small bet

i tell you to put a tenner on a horse,
you dont know if a tenner is a big bet or a tiny bet to me
I dont know if a tenner is nothing to you or your food budget so instead i tell you put 1 point on

    eg
    tip 1 point at 12/1

point to you is a tenner so you put 10 on at 12/1
point to you is twenty so you put 20 on at 12/1

tip is 2 points at 12/1

point to you is a tenner so you put 20 on at 12/1
point to you is twenty so you put 40 on at 12/1

    ?
