Have just seen this and and too lazy to read all the posts so if this question has already been asked then I apol........ This guy was refused entry into the cash league final (which he had qualified for) on the basis that he is employed by another casino.... So how did he get the hours up in the first place if he is not allowed play?

League was based on hours over a 16 week period. He hadn't started supplying the catering service ( he's not an employee ) until about 6 weeks ago.

Corkie do you need 100 posts or 100 responses for your bet to come up.

The lack of comment from the Macau is astounding but maybe
    you cant defend the undefendable.

I'm expecting the reply of all all replies. They have had long enough to come up with something a bit special. I think they will have to spend 8k on a very good spin doctor.

They won't defend themselves because they probably just don't care....As said by Corkie123 they still have a thriving business and no real competition!!!

And the people who feel hard done by will continiue to play there.....

Now 8k is probably the high end of the estimate but even if was half that it is still daylight robbery...

And as for the barring of one guy who does the catering for the competition!!!It's a bad decision by the Macau and their management team/owners who are terrible and obviously to everyone have no real experience of running a casino...

they can't take any critics and in business you have to take and learn form the good and also the bad...

All in all they will continue to behave in this way untill they gain real competition or the best thing that will happen for players in Ireland will be when casino's are all legistlated and proper gaming laws are implemented....

Well in fairness, Corkie123 seems to be their spokesman, no better man for the job. I don't know anything about the league final money etc, all I know is that a friend of mine was mistreated and he's not happy about it, the real reason is due to the bad blood between the organisers of each Casino, they should've been the "bigger man" and allowed him to play.

I'd be the first to post up a good experience I had somewhere, so rather than be hypocritical I will do the same with a bad experience, be it mine or someone I know. I hate this lie down and take it mentality.

I'm not trying to take sides here.

I'm guessing that Ken is up to his eyes with the festival at the moment. It's hard to expect him to come on here and get into it during the festival as I'm sure he is doing his best to make the event run smoothly and that he gives all the players the attention they deserve at the event.

I'm sure Ken will be made aware of this thread and will come on here next week.

To be honest this is a bit of a cop out.

I like Dave147 have no real interest in league finals etc, but feel that it is a disgrace to treat the person excluded from the League Final in such a manner.

To say that he is too busy is just crap. How long does it take to type a three line response. He's posting merrily away on his own thread.

Maybe so you from the poker organisers side can give us an opinion.

You are one of a number of poker organisers who ply your trade up and down the country.

    1. Do you bar say CPT or Big Slick dealers from playing in your events?

    2. You run qualifiers for events, what grounds would you use for refusing someone who has pre qualified for an event ( and just to compare like with like assume the seat is non transferrable and non refundable) the chance to play in it? And if you did would there be a refund?

    3. How do you view people who would play in Competitor's ( in your area ) events?

    4. Would someone who supplies a catering service to an event organised by the CPT be a threat to your business if he was allowed play in one of your
    events?

    1. NO

    2. I would only stop someone from playing if they were barred. If it was non transferrable & non-refundable. I would give the qualified person the option to take the cash.

    3. I would be delighted that they decided to play at my game and would do my best to make them feel welcome in the hope that they would come back in the rear future.

    4. No threat, he would allowed play.

    Moroman....

In all fairness you can't compare JP and the Macau. The Macau is a Casino, one base of customer's and he as a Poker company has a huge range of customer's all over Dublin on more than a few premises!!!

These 2 don't compare and for various reasons they shouldn't either...

The only companys you could compare them with is the Eglington in Galway, fitxpatrick's in Limerick and The sporting Emporium and the Fitzwilliam in Dublin. These are the among the best casino's in Ireland and should follow pretty much the same ethics....

And from what i know the above mentioned are a country mile ahead of the macau on ethics and treatment of punters. Now having being to festivals in the Macau they were awesome and i was treated excellently...But it's the regulars who seem to have problems and this isn't a new problem,it's been the same sounds coming out of Cork since the opening of the Club...

I know its not like for like, but seeing as there is no response from them, and JP ( albeit briefly ) was taking sides I just thought I'd ask a few basic policy questions. . Running Qualifiers for tournaments at a later date is his bread and butter and there is enough similarities between qualifying for a league final and winning a seat for a future event so it could be relevant to see what his view is without getting to caught up in it of the situation at hand.

Yeah you want someone to answer your question...I understand that!!!We all know if it is true what's been said then there is no question if it's wrong....That's obvious to everyone to see!!!!

The wrongs and rights aren't the question! The question is!Is it true? And if it is why????

I'd just like to point out that I was never on the fence. I actually meant to to write that

"I'm not trying to take sides here" but managed to leave out the word "not".

Christine read my post and noticed that I'd make a mistake.

I'm going to lock this thread for now. We are having a dicussion in the poker mod forum about this, but I feel we must also allow Macau a right to reply. Considering that they are currently in the middle of their annual festival its best to allow some time for this.

As is the thread is starting to go around in circles, so I'm locking it for now, but because legitimate concerns have been raised leaving it viewable.

The Macau were made aware of this thread and told they must respond to the allegations relating to the missing money from the Club League. To date they have chosen to ignore this, until such time as they explain the irregularity they are banned from using the Poker forum to promote their club/events and have been banned from the Tournament forum.

From here on, discussion/ promotion of the Macau and any events being held there is no longer allowed on the Poker forum.
