Cloud has cleared off in Waterford, got to see some very nice ones, some seemed to be a blueish tint aswell. Was seeing them at a frequency of every five minutes. My neck hurts now though:)

Was clouded over in Kildare. Hopefully tonight will bring some clear skies.

people with sore necks, you need to lie on the ground looking stright up, the brightest ones are directly over head, but make sure their is nothing nearby blocking your views to lower ones

Mukki, nice one. At least someone got to see some meteors. Not a chance here last night. Not looking good for tonight either.

Cloud heading in from the north tonight, so the chances won't be great. I didn't see any last night, but that was because I was out on the town. :D

    Yep.

Well I looked but was under a Mackerel Sky type cloud cover, very thin with holes but couldn't see anything.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,962 ✭✭✭jumpguy

I was disgusted. I got a clear night the night before the peak (the 10th/11th). I saw about 5 shooting stars in about 10 minutes, it wasn't too spectacular. The other days I was looking at the arse of a cumulous cloud.

5 meteors in 10 minutes is good going. Some people think when they hear the word "shower" that they are going to see loads of them like a fireworks display. It isn't like that. I would not be disgusted to have seen 5 in 10 minutes.
